We spent 6 nights at the resort and had high expectations yet Fairmont was able to exceed those expectations. The service we received throughout our stay was excellent and the resort is beautiful. And big thanks to Jameka at the front desk, who went above and beyond with our needs during our final day of our stay. The resort pool (actually two plus two hot tubs, not including the adult-only pool area) was one of our family's highlights especially how warm they keep the pool temperature! It was easy to find chairs and the staff was very attentive. A pleasant surprise was that they had one of the TVs at the pool bar tuned to TVG! Although the hotel is not on the beach (which we knew when we booked), it is conveniently located and an easy drive for anywhere we wanted to go, both within Del Mar and beyond. For our days at the beach, the valet staff loaded our car with complimentary chairs and umbrellas. The resort provided me with complimentary car service in a BMW for getting to the Del Mar race track. Although we did self-parking, the valet staff was consistently helpful and friendly. We enjoyed partaking in resort activities, including archery lessons and practice with Kellie. We felt safe throughout our visit despite COVID and very much hope to return in the future!

Fairmont Grand Del Mar is a true five-star hotel. I was very impressed by the congeniality of each hotel employee. The valet staff, concierge, and front desk staff were truly primed to graciously greet and welcome us in to the hotel. The hotel itself is like something out of a fairytale, or a French palace. The grounds were kept beautifully, the hotel was ornately decorated, the estate felt serene and secluded even while being massive. Our room was suite with balcony with a beautiful view of the golf course and hiking trails behind the hotel. The room was clean, quiet, spacious, and the bathtub was huge. The only two drawbacks are: (1) the location and (2) accessibility to the front desk. Del Mar isn't that far from anything but it also isn't too close to anything either. It's in a suburb of San Diego. You will have at least a 10-15 min drive to get to any tourist activities. But, the hotel staff is there to help you. More distressing was that communicating and contacting the staff was incredibly difficult at times. While, the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, it took a few tries to get in contact with the front desk or valet from our room. It seems like the hotel is short-staffed. Given the number of guests, there should be more individuals on the ground that are more readily available. For that reason, I gave the hotel an 8.5 (rounded up to a 9) out of 10. Overall, I truly enjoyed my stay at Fairmont and would highly recommend booking your reservation. Do not hesitate!

We were there for a wedding. The hotel service and cleanliness were impeccable. The hotel grounds and building really make you feel like you are in a Tuscan palace. There were too many amenities to list, but plenty of activities available for all age groups.

This hotel is beautiful. It is a maze and was built to be that way! The Spa is probably one of the best I have ever been in. I will tell you the restaurant is very expensive! Not much choice on them either. If you are a coffee drinker you only have a Nespresso machine in the room, I , personally hate a Nespresso machine. I hate to be on vacation and have to leave my room in the morning to get coffee! Dinner at Amaya was quite expensive and a little underwhelming. The only bar in the huge hotel is hidden away by Amaya, you have to look for it. They may be experiencing the Covid staffing issues too. Probably would go back. Just know it is VERY pricey.

Room is beautiful. Was overlooking pool. Adult Pool well kept with great crew. Grounds well kept. Spa treatments wonderful with knowledgeable employees. Food is great! Must try the Addison Michelin Restaurant dinner.

This was the first time I stayed at the Fairmont Grand Del Mar, this is such an amazing resort. The place is gorgeous, it feels like you are in your very own palace, the customer service was exceptional, the food is deliciously amazing, and received awesome service by the waiter, you must try the Mahi Mahi BLT Sandwich, it is to die for. The bar at the pool was a great touch and served one of the best Margaritas on the rocks. The hot chocolate at night was delicious and really hit the spot. The Deli in the resort had the yummiest complimentary chocolate dip Oreo cookies that you must try. The resort looks like a palace and the outdoor views are amazing that it's hard to describe, you must see it to believe it. When your driving up to the resort and as you enter it feels like you are definitely in a new world. I highly recommend the Fairmont Grand Del Mar, the 5 stars does not give it justice, I would give it two thumbs up and a 10 star rating. Thank you so much for the wonderful stay and experience, my family and I will definitely be returning soon.

This place is hands down the best hotel I have ever stayed. The staff is extremely helpful and attentive to any needs and the entire hotel is just beautiful. We have already traveled there twice in the past month, once with our kids and once without. Both experiences were 5 star. I can’t wait to go back.

We just came home after spending , ( unfortunately), only 3 days at this beautiful resort. Truly a Covid safe staycation. From the moment you’re greeted by the bellman , to the attentive pool staff & the friendly restaurant staff, u r sure the staff will accommodate your every need. The beautiful architectural design of the resort really sets it apart & transforms you to a different world. Whether you are a family or adults seeking a quiet vacation, this place can accommodate both . The grounds are manicured & invite you to engage in enjoying the outdoors by walking , golfing , playing pickle ball or just lounging at one of the pools. The outdoor fire pits with music daily set the stage for a truly relaxing evening. Top it all off with the outstanding dining experience of the “Addison. “ ......there are no words to describe it’s excellence .

Stayed for the New Year and really enjoyed our stay. Has Michelin star restaurant on property, indoor and outdoor gyms, numerous pools, golf, tennis and miles and miles of hiking trails on property. Bonus: if you submerge your ears in the pool, you’ll hear music playing :)

We live in San Clemente and were looking for a local getaway for MLK Day weekend. We are AMEX Platinum cardholders and the Fairmont Grand Del Mar was at the top of our list. Top notch service and room service was delicious. If you get bored, you can always order door dash. Great golf and wonderful hikes right off of the resort. We brought our dog and she had a great time! Ben at the front desk was amazing and Ryan at valet was awesome too. We just loved the entire time and can’t wait to go back.
