I used to live a block from this restaurant and I miss it so much!! I have eaten here at least 60 times. Food and service are unsurpassed! I've eaten sushi all over the country, literally, and this place is by far the best! Eat it!
One of Sand Diego’s historic Gaslamp district Sushi Jewels. Small place; but packed with flavor. They have the perfect menu, not overwhelming where other places loose you to pages of selections.
We came to this restaurant on a Wednesday during the week between Christmas and New Years. It was very busy but we were seated quickly outside. The area outside is heated and very pleasant. We ordered the miso soup, soft shell crab, spicy tuna tar tar, shrimp tempura, spicy tuna roll, spicy scallop roll, salmon & tuna sashimi. We had wine (Chardonnay) and green tea both of which were good. Our food came out very quickly and our server (Martin) was fun, polite and attentive. He made some good recommendations and helped us navigate the menu. The food was great and well priced. We were craving sushi and this definitely hit the spot. The regular tuna sashimi was a fairly fatty cut which is always a bonus. The tuna tar tar was very fancy and is topped with a quails egg & gold flakes. I would highly recommend both if you like tuna. I would definitely go back to this restaurant and would recommend it to anyone craving good sushi.
Arrived in the evening at the apparently normal restaurant, ordered sushi for three people, a portion of sashimi, two servings of soybean beans two cups of tea and a glass of white wine. All arrived of good quality and medium-low quantity. Even arrived the crazy bill of over $200 without tip.Evidently they consider the customers chickens to fleece. Absolutely to avoid

Everything from the atmosphere to the service to the presentation was spectacular, not to mention the food! The dynamite special was incredible, the nigiri was so fresh, and the rolls were sublime. Some of the best sushi I have had. You have to try!

Both Masa and Roger made our sushi and it was the best we’ve ever had. You can tell they love their craft. By far the best experience we’ve had at a sushi restaurant!Thank you all for the 5 star experience!
I went here just for the oyster shooters and honeymoon! And went back a second time in five days. ($5/oyster shooter = oyster, quail egg, fish roe, ponzu sauce; $17/honeymoon = sea urchin, oyster, quail egg, fish roe (2 kinds), ponzu sauce)
Omakase was the BOMB our chef Masa was delightful as was all the staff. He made our mother daughter dinner a wonderful memory. I Highly recommend!!!! Very fresh!
