Be ready, when you arrive you will not be greeted or welcomed. The hostesses are beyond rude. For this reason I will not return. It was my third time here and I have been raving about the food! It is delicious and beautifully presented, however, the terrible attitude of the staff has remained consistent. If you want to feel un welcomed - this is the place to go.
Food, drinks and service were all incredible - chefs tasting menu is always remarkable. Easily one of the best restaurants in all of SD!
Food was great but overpriced for tacos. I recommend the quesa birria taco, the shrimp was okay, and the corn croquetas were amazing 10/10 would order those again had a great spice to them. The mole app was good but I wouldn't get it again needs more flavor. Paloma and frozen sangria were very good drinks.
Food and staff was great! If you sit outside be ready for a little road noise especially in weekends but it wasnât bad at all.
Tahona has an excellent atmosphere, friendly staff, great cocktails, and delicious food. I will always recommend this for anyone who wants to dine in Old Town
Food was amazing. The tacos were incredible!! The drinks were wow, especially the mezcal-based drinks. I’ve been to so many places with mixology in TJ and this place was next level!
We arrived with a 9:15 reservation , the server didnât really great us but told us straight away that we needed to order because the kitchen was closing at 9:30 . Overall the food was very good and authentic for an honest price. Unfortunately for all the dinner we felt pushed to leave soon and didnât really being taken care of .

I love the flavors of the food here...this is the only Mexican restaurant I'll eat at in Old Town. However, last night I felt like in every dish we ordered, they had overdone it with the sauces, which overpowered the food...especially the ahi tostada.
Tahona Bar is amazing. I live in San Diego and prefer this restaurant over the touristy places in Old Town. Great food, great service every single time!
