50% OFF menu.If it wasn't for the 50% it would have been a little expensive. We were walking around and we thought to try this little place and we were glad we did.Sushi rolls were very tasty.Clean place. The staff is nice, helpful and beyond. You can ask'em anything and will help you as much as they can.We tried 6 rolls total and every one of them was very good. And that was the second time visiting Kuchi. We'll be back soon.
Okay, so let's start off with the fact that I had to go to 4 locations to finally find a place that had seating and what I wanted. When I got there, I was quite frustrated that it took so many attempts to get food. The hostess was quick to get me seated in a nice quiet spot outside. After looking over the menu I saw all rolls were 50%off. BINGO! WIN FOR ME! So I tried something new, the Bad boy roll, it had tempura shrimp and spicy tuna in the inside with yellowtail, mosago, thin lemon slices and a spicy sauce on the top. I must say this was the best sushi I have ever had. The lemon paired so well with all the other flavors in a way I just can't describe. The sake was served nice a hot just how I like it. All in all Sushi Kuchi made my day and my trip to San Diego all worth it!
Ahh, the food was to die for. Excellent and vast choice of sushi and sashimi, super friendly staff/service. Excellent sake choices too. It's a fairly small place and very popular, so make sure you make a reservation. Highly recommended.
I have been here a few times with some family members and some friends. The location is pretty popular wit other Asian establishments nearby. The ambience of this location is pretty good. It is very nice and cool. The lighting was pretty subtle. The presentation of the sushi is very nice and could definitely see it in someone's social media platform like Instagram or TikTok.The prices of the sushi rolls are pretty decent. They marketing strategy is quite good, let me tell you that. They would put 50% off on some rolls and such, but if you think about it and calculate it, the prices of each rolls can be considered as overpriced, until the put the 50% off. But it wasn't a big hindrance of us going here to be honest. The servers are quite nice and very jolly. I would definitely suggest sitting and getting your table inside the establishment. Or maybe it is just me, but I mean it when I said that I like the interior ambience of the place. I would definitely come back here and would bring more people with me.
Greatly impressed! Quick and efficient service. The pictured menu is awesome , helping us to decide what to order and it was not disappointing! My newest favorite Sushi place close by... Good job!
If there is ever a Kuchi to eat, this is the place to get it. The Kuchi Roll is the staple piece to every dinner we've eaten here. Everything else, we each have to try something new each time. We have found some delicious gems such as the Star Wars Roll, Sweet Hawaiian Roll, and the Dragon Roll. They offer 50% off sushi selections, but you're not going to be spending only a couple bucks per roll. If you want to touch that sweet Kuchi Roll to your lips, it's like $15-20. Don't be surprised at the bill at the end of the night, just remember the following words. Worth. Every. Penny.
When you get the menu, its prices are listed as 2x the average market price of item, then they take 50% off that to bring it back down to a reasonable level. Just give us the normal prices??? Do you think we are stupid???Our food took 20 mins to come out. They put wasabi on almost every piece of sushi when I didn’t ask for any, so consider this if you bring kids. My tobiko sushi was basically half wasabi half tobiko. It hurt me to eat.I asked for hot water and the server gave me iced water. How could I trust them to remove wasabi from my food if they mess up WATER?Do not come here.
My partner got a bunch of nigiri and I got the salmon roll and soft shell crab roll. The food was ok, wasn't terribly authentic, and decently priced. 3 stars for the service. While there were tables available, it took a while for someone to acknowledge us and seat us. They seated us before giving us menus, and it took a minute or two to get a menu. When we were ready to order, we had to flag our waiter down twice. And when the food came out, they gave my partner his nigiri 7 minutes before mine was ready. Granted, they might have thought we were sharing everything, but I awkwardly sat there without anything in front of me while my partner waited. At the end, they apologized for the wait, but it definitely wasn't efficient.
The food was good and fast. Not to crowded.
The sushi wasn't really top notch. It was busy which is good. Good cheap eat. Parking was hard. Tasty but limited in drinks outside of sake and sapporo beer. Lots of college kids, which for a primary audience is on point.
