This is an amazing sushi place for vegetarians esp! The sushi is super delicious and the servers are so friendly. I regret I found this place so late! It has been a go- to place for me and my husband. I haven’t yet tried their ramen but I look forward to trying more of their food! Veggie folks- do try this place out! A heads up- this place is very very very busy so be ready to wait. I assure you that the wait is worth for their food! ?
This place certainly has a vibe. It's a dive, an American dive serving sushi. If you like divey vibes you might love it. If you expect Japanese fine dining you might be disappointed. As far as food, it's also not the finest. It's not bad but read again, it's a dive. You might see canned jalapenos on your sushi rolls. The ramen egg is just a hard boiled egg, no medium soft yolk, no soy marinade, no frills. Satisfied my empty stomach, didn't break the bank.
Sushi Deli 3 never disappoints. Great lunch specials, creative and varied sushi rolls and sashimi. Great lunch service… just be sure to be in queue at 11:30 when they open.
So much selection of sushi, love the Bento box. They had the May specials, which was great and super delicious

Visited for lunch on a Saturday, great food, great service, chef made kid size portions of the sushi - overall 5/5
Sushi Deli is a San Diego staple for quick, quality Japanese. The ramen, bento boxes, and rolls are always on point. They also have a full bar and a great beer selection. I really enjoy the vegetarian roll options, especially the Bee Hive. Their miso soup is also very good. It’s a laid back, straightforward Japanese spot that is great for low-key dates, family lunches, and even small parties. There is a decent amount of parking in the lot next to the restaurant, and the street is usually fairly open as well.Mitsuwa and Bookoff are less than a block away, if you’d like to visit a great Japanese market and used book/music store before or after your visit. Common Theory, a bar/restaurant with an immense beer selection, is not too far either.
A great backup when the first place we tried was closed. Not a big sushi fan, but I love sashimi, and the prices on that were much better than I usually pay. Nice atmosphere, too. Seems like the perfect place to hang out, have some beers and Munchies, and just chill.
Love this place! Great staff, Amazing sushi. And even great drinks. I love their blackened sesame albacore appetizer! Must get. Also the rolls tropic thunder and chubby bunny. 10/10. Easy one of best sushi in SD
It's a nice restaurant and it has great vibe. Be careful with the line. I was there before it was open and there were people waiting already. I'm not sure why. The sushi is ok at best. I ordered Monkeybrain as appetizer and I seriously couldn't tell you what it was inside. I kept chewing and no clue. Again, it is a nice place but probably not for its food.
