Found this place by accident when I can for lunch at the cafe across the street but it was too busy, but I felt lucky because this place is amazing. Food is delicious and authentic but with a twist, the combination offlavors and the balance in each dish calls for a round of ???. Service is great, hosts are welcoming and friendly prices are too low, for the level of Thai food serve here they should charge high end prices but the place is so modest and so are the people who owns it apparently. This is a hidden gem as far as I’m concerned, and if you’re around SD whether local or not just come here you won’t regret it.
Really exciting Thai restaurant that celebrates staples of the cuisine. The Miang Kham is a must and currently my favorite appetizer in the whole city. It just hits all the notes of Thai food in one super satisfying bite. I went here with my super spicy friends and even though we eat 8s at other Thai restaurants (see Plumeria), wouldn't recommend going past 6 here. We still enjoyed the meal greatly and definitely recommend!
Had their spicy noodles.. don't let the basic sounding dish name fool you-it is anything but. A 4 on the spicy scale was perfect for us, it is infused with many pepper tastes and of course, Thai food's signature basil. Would highly recommend!Food is portioned to be just enough, and you won't leave feeling too full. Expect to spend about 20 bucks a person here. The server has a charisma about her. Just so nice! Coupled with a nice atmosphere, I would defo recommend everyone to try this place out.
Had dinner with family. Decided to go all vegan and ordered fried rice, green curry and lo mein noodles. The serving size is pretty large. Food was very flavorful and service was excellent.
Double check the spice level!!!Ordered a small pick up of Pad See Iw and Tom Kah soup with level 2 heat but it was super hot!The options were 1-5 so I went a 2 thinking it would be medium/mild but I was wrong. The Tom Kah soup was very good (also a 2) was very good but the Pad See Iw was on a different scale as I couldn’t finish it.The soup was good. The ambience and atmosphere of the restaurant looked great but just need to watch spice level.
Service was great and the place is very cute and clean. The entry was this chicken, surprisingly a big portion for appetizer and taste perfect! We asked a big soup with coconut sauce and was delicious. The original pad Thai was good but not great why I am not giving a 5 ⭐ I always eat pad thai in thai restaurants since is my favorite dish. However, this one had the noodles too thin which made it get chunks like over cooked noodles, and not enough of peanut. So it was my only bad point.
The best Thai food in San Diego! I love this place so much, and even with Covid-19 we’ve been ordering food to be delivered almost weekly. The first time I had Thai food was in the Bay Area, and when I moved to San Diego, I was sad to not find good Thai food until I found this place. Their seafood choices are so good, and their Kraprow is my personal favorite. Their hotness scale is quite high (a warning) if you think you like it ‘Medium” be sure to ask them exactly how you like it. I always thought I could tolerate spicy food but I kind of had to go to level 2 on the hotness scale!!
What went beyond amazing for me was the flavor profile of authentic Thai food. I can’t tolerate any spicy which when removed can sometimes reveal bland food. What a delight to have a dish that was a flavor explosion of perfectly balanced seasonings, fresh vegetable medley accompanied by soft steamy brown rice. Kudos to Sukko Thai - I will definitely be back soon! Oh yes, I ordered the mock duck with cashew.
It’s hard to put into words just how good the food is here. I’ve been to numerous highly-rated Thai restaurants between San Diego and LA – this is one of the best I’ve eaten at. Try the Thai BBQ pork!
Randomly went out tonight heading for some polite provisions, but the line was crazy long. Not my favorite kind of line. So we wandered around and found this gem. Lemme tell you....I like spicy food. The kind where the consequences are tomorrow's problem. It's my jam. This spot let's you pick your level of spice (from 1 to 10). Well, here I am, coming in hot with a 10. And you know what? I'm not sorry, I'll do it again. The crispy wangs we're super tasty. Crispy just like it said on the menu but also with the tang of the tamarind. No dipping sauce needed, just tuck in. MY dish was the spicy noodle. Most popular item on the menu. But they one upped it...as a protein, they offer crispy chicken. Wha-------?!? Yeah, and it slaps y'all. Especially when it's tossed in my atomic hot sauce. As I sat there with my eyes watering, nose running and just giving the slightest nod to suggest life from within me...I realized how happy I was.Boyfriend got the curry, and it was great. Ask him, he'll tell you.Service, on point. Friendly, attentive, efficient and genuine. They're happy you like their food. Love seeing that.
