The bartender is cool AF. I'm DD tonight and he keeps making sure I always have a soda.
A perfectly no-nonsense main street bar to hang out, have a few drinks, make some new friends and play some pool. The super-long bar makes it very easy to find a spot you like. The music is chill and the vibe is very friendly. All in all, a great place to kick back, hit a few drinks and be on your way.
Well, I probably shouldn't have been served- but I was - - even served someone else's drink. Which I promptly drank because of not needing to be served anymore. Five Stars for Starbar
Been coming to the Star since 1989 best dive bar EVER!! But with new ownership and bartenders it kinda sucks. Bartender aren't attentive. Taking almost ten minutes to get a drink with a half empty bar. Because they're either eating or talking to friends.?
Pretty sure this was a local bar. Learned a bit about it also from the employees, was a great time there. Wish they had shirts for sale. Went twice nice friendly staff. Great crowds.
The cheapest drinks downtown FYI to everybody. This is the only bar downtown that has a granddaddy lease so they can just serve alcohol. That's why the drinks are so cheap!

it's a good place one of the best bars to go to downtown to relax play some pool have a couple of drinks. like some of the bars or clubs around here it's all about dancing getting drunk and getting high smoking cigarettes in the club can't really smoke in her bar but at clubs you can smoke cigarettes the thing about the Star bar that's where you go to kick back and relax drink a beer get back with a friend and play some pool. that's why I like the Star bar out of any bar that's downtown San Diego I don't know if any other bar is quite like Star Bar. I'll tell you what regardless of the situation if you don't like what you got or if you need something back or your dollar didn't go through or the dollar that you put in the jukebox didn't show credit on it just go to the bartender and I'll give you another dollar. great place to chill out and relax and get away from the hustle and bustle downtown.

This is one of my favorite places in the Gaslamp Quarter. Happy Hour from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. daily, 2 pool tables, add in an attentive and curtious staff, how could you not love this place.
