Ayce hot pot. You can choose 3 different soup base. Order 3 rounds of meat of your choice. Love the wagyu beef belly and pork belly. Buffet style food you can get such as noodles, seafood, veggies, .etc to cook for your hot pot. They have some appetizers like chicken karage. They have Korean shave ice where you can customize it to your liking and unlimited drinks with tea and soda. All included with the price.
Some of THE BEST hotpot you can get in the San Diego area and its so good, the staff are helpful and always on the look out that you don’t even need to ask for help (if you go at good times of operation otherwise it is crowded and you’ll have to understand) Good selection of meats to cook during lunch and dinner, excellent choices in sauce/dip mixing and components; along with many choices of already made and to be made foods and noodles on the bars
I pass by this place every time when dropping of my sister to Scripps High. I had been wanting to try it out for a long time so I invited my mom and my sister to come along with me. I knew nothing about hotpot at the time. To keep a long story short, we did not feel very welcomed from the beginning. You can read peoples faces. I’m not sure why in California our brown skin color would be a signal to treat us differently. One man sitting at the table next to us decided to contribute in the spectacle of brown people eating at a restaurant. My sister who is a very outgoing and not a shy person, was uncomfortable and that was out of character. My family and I will never be back here which I’m sure was their end goal.
Great buffet style shabu shabu! They have a self-serve soda fountain, and shaved ice for dessert. I love this place! The only criticism I have is the vinyl on their bench seating is extremely cracked and weathered. Don't wear shorts unless you want to cut up your thighs. ??
Went on a family lunch to Shabu-Works with the family and I enjoyed my time here. The spicy miso was my favorite and the other flavor we got was the Mongolian which was a bit saltier than we liked. The buffet functionality is cool and I love how they have cooked food which helped with keeping the baby at bay with food ready to go. Meat options were great and overall, I was extremely pleased with my meal and options from the buffet. My only concern with the place was that on a Saturday afternoon, they weren't busy yet my family wasn't getting checked on for more meat. We were right next to the buffet stations so it wasn't like we were away from view, Furthermore, we were next to another couple who wasn't even asking for more meat yet the waiters were asking them if they wanted more meat. It's not a meat issue as it was a customer service issue because this actually led to our table being filled with plates from the buffet and with no one voluntarily helping us, our table got stacked. In the end, I just wish the customer service was better for a non busy lunch.
Pricey but good. They have some buffet items in addition to the hot pot at your table. They have self serve drinks, which includes a coke freestyle machine and some other juices and teas. The shaved ice machine is cool, and they have a good variety of toppings, although I do wish they had ice cream instead.
Been here multiple times and finally indoor dining is back. Came on a Sunday evening and was seated almost immediately.AYCE shabu shabu with other hot foods available at the hot bar (fried chicken, fried rice, and etc.). Meats are fresh, and they had fish too which is a plus for me since I am not a big meat eater. They have tons of fresh veggies, noodles, seafood, sauces to choose from, along with other tasty offerings like kimchi, tofu, etc. They also have a shaved ice bar!You get to pick 2 types of broth. I chose chicken broth and spicy. Both had good flavor and you can add more flavor from the sauce bar, if needed. The workers are super kind and very quick to refill your soup bases or get you more orders of meat. I recommend this place! It's an all you can eat joint that definitely gives you your money's worth + it's good for groups + fun experience for the kids too!
Love the food at Shabu Works. All the staff are very helpful and courteous. Great service!
Our first time at a hotpot place. They don’t have them where we live in Florida. It was absolutely amazing food and the shaved ice with condensed milk and fresh fruit it was so good!
Shabu Works is hands down my favorite AYCE shabu shabu spot in San Diego! I love everything from the meat selection and broth options to the endless variety of veggies/seafood/hot dishes and sauces you can create. On top of how amazing the food is, the people who work there are always attentive, very friendly and super kind. I already can’t wait to come back!!!
