If you visit San Diego, you MUST stop by Seafood la 57! The truck is located in a Target parking lot, so there will never be a problem looking for parking. They also have a tent with a few standing tables, so if you wanted to eat your food fresh, you would have the option to.There were so many options to choose from, but you MUST get their fish tacos and Tostada Loca. They give such big pieces of fish that were cooked to perfection! It was so buttery and flavorful and the batter was so crispy. The Tostada Loca was delicious as well. They pile a huge mountain of seafood (shrimp, octopus, crab, etc) on top of a crispy tostada. They give you extra tostadas on the side as well since you won't actually get to the bottom for a while. My first visit was so satisfying that I had to visit one last time as my last meal in San Diego. Everything was so fresh and the prices are hard to beat. I will 100% go back when I visit SD again.

Maybe I ordered the wrong thing but I got the baja trio and it was not very good. The batter was super super heavy and soggy on the fish and shrimp. I usually love fried fish tacos but this was very disappointing, unfortunately.

So good. Very good sauce and nothing over cooked. Their servings are huge. Nice outside area with lights to eat at… no chairs just tables to stand at. That would be nice to have stools.

Amazing, friendly service, best marlin we’ve ever had. Guess smoked is the way to go! Everything was a lot bigger than expected! Definitely will be coming back! Watch out for the dark red salsa! ?

They were good but not on a different level. I had 2 of their basic battered fish tacos. Maybe I should have put sauce on them to get them to the next level?! They were good but I believe there are better out there.

SO GOOD!! I live in El Cajon but will take any opportunity to go eat at this truck that I can! Some of the best fried fish tacos, very generous sized fish. All tacos are borderline overstuffed! I always recommend the Baja trio tacos- I had never had marlin before so was very confused the first time why my tacos had meat rather than fish lol But it’s so good!!! Again, a STUFFED taco, so worth the price in my opinion. I struggle to finish the last few bites on the trip! The aguachile is SO GOOD!!! Heavy on the cucumbers, but honestly needed because it is spicyyy. Service is fairly quick considering how busy they normally are. The key limes, pickled red onions, and cilantro sauce are required additions! Highly recommend

Can never go wrong with the tostada loca! Mountain of different types of seafood, eaten with a bag tostada shells. It’s delicious and definitely recommend it if you like ceviche.

The aguachile is AMAZING.Love this place!

My favorite seafood truck in SD. Closest thing to getting some delicious mexican seafood without crossing the border. They pile on the flavor and food. Definitely worth the price and wait.

In the before days, I recall a truck serving up a similar menu, with the exact same business model, called Oceans 97. Mark Wiens reviewed it, I went and loved it. I don’t know the significance that the truck now says “57” on it, but gave it a go. First off, prices have gone up significantly, Being a food service person myself this is understood as food and operating cost have doubled since then. They are not greedy corporate overlords. To the contrary, I found the alacrity of service and hospitality lacking these days of disgruntled workers. My tostado loco was a bit different from previous visits, with three geenlip mussels and one diced oyster framing the oversized, two meal affair. The seafood was fresh and adequate- mostly resilient octopus, poached shrimp seasoned with tajine, and flakes of a sea bass like fish. This salpicon of sorts sported cucumber, red onion, and tomato in a way that seems un-unified to me. Let it macerate a bit more to break down into a more unified leche de tigre. Overall I enjoyed ( add that habanero salsa and a bit more lime). The oyster tasted off- and concerned me but did not suffer the revenge. The taco Gobernador was one of the better Ive had but $6?. PersonallyI think it used to have an edge up, but that was then. Four stars is still damned good, and in my regular rotation
