Unfortunately poor service. Appears to be a management problem. Our server was running between at least 6 tables. Our food came out cold. Recommend they cut off the guests before too many are seated, or cut the room in half, don't seat the patio? Manager should have been there cleaning tables and getting food out so it wasn't arriving cold to the tables. People on both sides of us had similar issues. Noticed no bussing staff, no hostesses, not enough wait staff. All reflects poor management. Took our pizza home to reheat it. Sad, but the pizza was delicious after we reheated it. I would suggest they cut the room in half and close the patio when short staffed. You've got to be better in touch with your guests and get those stars back up to 5
This place is terrible. They have eliminated the ability to add a note when ordering only, I want to do something really simple, which is taking the cheese off the pasta dish or take the cheese off the salad, yet I can't specify it. Nobody picks up the phone when you try to call and place a to-go order. I have had this issues several times. I have even written to customer support.
First, We had to find someone to ask if we could be seated...no one at reception desk. Second, we had to flag someone down to find out who our server was as patrons that came in after us were already being served. When that server appeared, he was not experienced and we had to ask for some of the ingredients listed on menu for our food that were missing. We ordered chopped salad and a pizza. Neither was very good. Salad lettuce was limp, ingredients missing. Pizza was not hot and crust was not crisp.This is not the Sammy's of old, unfortunately has gone way down hill. Will definitely not return or recommend.
The food was decent, but prett pricy for what you get (poor value). A doordash alarm was going off for 5 to 10 minutes before we flagged down a staff member to take care of it. Overall the service quality was subpar.
The Chopped Chicken Salad has been a favorite of our family for maybe 20 years now? Great place, friendly service, awesome food! Our server, Victoria, was so sweet and did a great job.
Sammys in Del Mar has the BEST Lamb Chops ever they are HUGE an moist, but they have a server there named Victoria who was the best servior so efficant sweet and loved what she was doing and I was a server when I was young so I really appreciated her enthusiasm so RARE to find thease days. Thank you Victoria
Surprisingly really good happy hour and appetizer menu. Their chili was great and so were the wings. You can make a meal of the apps. Great place to get a quick bite before a movie date night at cineoplis. Nice outdoor sunny patio, both covered and open.
Nice setup. We had 14+ people and the restaurant arranged it very well and the kids enjoyed the lunch... Thai Chicken pizza and Cotton candy was a big hit.
Group of friends and I had a great time on 11/11 at lunch. Food was great and the best tomato soup I ever had at a restaurant. Our server was very attentive and worked very hard for 10 of us.
Comfort food. Consistent and good. Ask for Sarah, she is excellent.
