Great value simple Persian food. Spartan atmosphere though. We really had a nice meal with friendly staff. Pick a few dishes and share.
The food was great. We ordered the Sultani, the boneless chicken Kabob and the Cornish hen Kabob. Except the koobideh, which was good, the rest was amazing, specially the Cornish hen Kabob. The only downside was they made a mistake in my order and I had to wait for 10 min.
The gheimeh (eggplant stew) and ghormeh sabzi (vegetable stew) were exceptionally good— already dreaming about them and will be ordering them again and again. In terms of kabob, the barg was phenomenal and will be ordering again. Koobideh was good but not great.Very satisfied with delivery service, though I think you need to request for fresh onions and herbs on the side (the true Persian way to eat kabob).I don’t normally write reviews but was so impressed by the food that I had to— review written by an objective Persian.
This was my first time trying Persian Cuisine and they did not disappoint at all.Very fresh and tasty food. I will definitely come back.
Very disappointing. Poor quality and taste. We are very familiar with Persian food. Shirazi salad was okay.
The stews are outstanding. Fesenjoon verrrry tasty. Kabab koobideh I liked but my dining companion not so much. Baghali polo I enjoyed but it didn’t need any steak in it (not specified as such on menu) as it was side for koobideh.
We were walking along 5ve Ave and decided to give this restaurant a try. The best decision ever! Swap rice with salad, it’s so refreshing! Lamb is so tender & chicken is well seasoned.
Nice place, good food and good service, but the parking and the neighborhood are run down and terrible
Visiting SD for the first time. My family was excited to visit Sadaf after reading the reviews and narrowing down our search. We called in advance to secure a reservation. Upon arrival the restaurant a was empty, no one to greet us. We understand with the pandemic upon us many restaurants are suffering staffing shortage, however, who wants to forsake customer service. Finally the gentleman acknowledged us, directed us to stand in the doorway while the table was prepared. We knew exactly what we wanted, waited a few minutes for the gentleman and ordered right away. Asked to try a house wine, took 30 mins and arrived in a dripping wet wine glass. Didn’t think much of it. Food arrived, rice was cold. Plates were dirty and waited another 20 mins for the yogurt dish. No one checked in on us. Food was mediocre and below average compared to past experiences with “authentic Persian food.” Service is everything. If you are looking for great service and good food, I would not suggest this place.
Had a very good experience at Sadaf! Very nice people and delicious food! Thank you!
