The service was slacking! I have worked in the restaurant business and know what good service looks like. The food was not what I was expecting for the price. I ordered the nachos $11 with the smoked brisket which was a $6 add on the total came out to $18 The brisket was excellent but the nachos were average made with yellow nacho cheese, not real cheese. Maybe it was locally sourced nacho cheese from the grocery store idk. the portion was small for what I paid. Definitely expect more from my money. Don’t bother responding to this review telling me that I’m a terrible human being and don’t know the restaurant business and I will not be back.
This place is awesome. All the employees are super personable and fun. The fish tacos are beyond tasty and some amazingly decent fries and onion rings. Nice spot for an afternoon lunch right on the water. Highly recommend and will return for sure.
Our recent experience was similar to others. The menu change removed any reason to schlep out to Mission Beach. Especially for these prices, there's better food to be had in town. The burger is eleven dollars, comes with no sides, and suffers compared to places like Friendly Tavern.Service was outstanding, though. The guy shouting out orders is hilarious.Edit: The owner is a tool and replies to every negative review. Let's give him plenty to respond to!
Totally new menu, no more mexican like I loved last visit. Options for lunch were few- chicken or fish sandwich (maybe a burger), sides of fries or onion rings sold separately. They said the kitchen was too small to keep the tacos and burritos on the menu. The fresh caught yellowtail garlic sandwich was good, but the bun was so soggy right away I ended up throwing the bottom bun away. I took it to go but only live 3 mins away in OB and ate it right away. The sauce was flavorful at least. For $15.60 pre tax and tip, with no sides, it’s not my favorite.
I've only had their Cali burrito, but it's so incredible it's tough to want to try anything else on their menu. I've probably had a Cali burrito from well over 30 places having lived here for over a decade and practically surviving off them at times.Hands down, the best Cali burrito I've ever had in my life. I've had it about six times from this place and the consistency is excellent. They offer three different meats and they're all slow cooked. It makes what used to be my favorite Cali burrito (Mikes/Harry's Taco Club) seem like fast food now. I actually live a couple blocks from Harry's and was obsessed with their Cali burrito until I went to Royal Rooster. I had Harry's one time after Royal Rooster and haven't ordered it from them since. Royal Rooster's is just in a completely different league. It's seriously that good. I don't often write reviews these days.I take all of my friends from out of town to this place so they can try what I think is the best Cali burrito hands down in all of San Diego.
❤️this is a great spot. Going through a transition right now, but we will stand by them and support everyone stand together being positive and wish them love and prayers with this change. A move into restaurant is what they need??❤️??
Great view, great service, great food. What more can you ask for?Laid-back waterfront food-join with great selection and personality. Check it out for yourself!
This place will KNOCK your socks off!! The service is exceptional and the food was outstanding! It is located next to the water and about Harbor and so the view is just stunning. We ate out on the patio and the tables have umbrellas, so it was extremely comfortable! We got the chips and salsa, guacamole, the fish tacos, and the California burrito with all the varieties of meat! I would HIGHLY recommend this place!!
My first time eating fish tacos and it was sooooo good. I highly recommend trying this place out and eating out in the open with the orange sunset is beautiful. My favorite was the shrimp taco. ?
Probably the best tacos in all of San Diego. These are not your average tacos, they are fairly large and packed with fresh slaw and pickled onions. Carnitas and barbacoa are both smoked on site and are delicious. My favorite is the baja fried shrimp. Their california burrito is also really good. The venue is unbeatable. Views of the harbor are amazing and certainly make the experience even better. This is San Diego's best kept secret!
