Wow! They did such a great job at meat replacements! The combinations in compounds/spices are great, too. Absolutely recommend, also for non vegans - nobody would notice :)
I had been meaning to try this place and it did not disappoint!! Hearts of palm is an amazing choice for the Rich Girl sandwich, and the fried pickles were the cherry on top. Can’t wait to try the other menu items! Also, it feels so good to eat it in a communal spot, and know we’re supporting local businesses who deserve all the success they’re having. :)
Discovered rollin roots when it was just starting as a food truck. Got to say this is some of the best vegan food I have ever had. I brought multiple friends here who don't necessarily enjoy the vegan lifestyle and all of them only had good things to say. If your looking for great food with hearty portions this is definitely a must try.
Good food but the wait is super long. We waited 70 minutes for 1 sandwich. The fried pickles came out 30 minutes later and they were over-salted, couldn't finish them.
Best thing on the menu is definitely the mac and cheese balls, perfectly seasoned. The brussel sprouts were interesting... Not bad. I also tried the lemon pepper cauliflower wings and my god, those were so salty, it tasted overwhelmingly like Lucas lime candy. They oyster mushrooms in the spicy boy we're kinda chewy and too big to fit entirely in the mouth. The place definitely has potential for it's food but it would be wise to listen to the feedback of their customers. Big portions. Total was $90 for 1sando, 1 spicy boy fries, 2x Mac and cheese, 1 salty califlour wings and brussel sprouts and tip.
An awesome addition to the shared space of Lost Cause Meadery and Serpentine Cider. I had tried this vegan food at an event with Babe Kombucha and had been craving it ever since!!! We got the mac n' cheese balls which were to die for and the dipping sauce was so delicious. My husband didn't even realize till after we ate them that they were vegan, not to mention gluten free! I mean can it get any better?! We also got the buffalo chicken fries which were massive and extremely delicious. We would neve have known any of it was vegan or gluten free. Highly recommend for anyone and everyone. I am a bit meat and cheese person and this vegan food blew me away!
Heard about these guys on the news. Terrible what some people will do. The food looks amazing and I would love to try it when you get back up and running. Try not to let the haters keep you down. We stand with you chef
Finally made it to Rollin Roots and it was amazing ? We ate till we couldn’t anymore but still wanted more. So fresh, tasty and innovative. I gotta say, I was surprised that their fried food didn't feel heavy and those fried pickles are the most delicious that I have ever had!! Definitely going back this weekend with friends. The fact that the Miramar location is shared with a craft brewery gives options for your buddies who want to try beers with some yummy fried food.
I had the jackfruit "pulled pork" BBQ - which was tasty and the fish jackfruit I've ever had - loved it. My favorite was the fried pickles though!!! Fantastic! The location (in San Diego) was just lovely! I also had the "poke" salad with beets, which I really enjoyed & got a taste of the delicious palm hearts in the "po boy" sandwich. Definitely try!!!
