One the remaining classic pubs, not a ‘sports bar’ with everyone brainlessly watching TV or playing with their cell phone. Excellent choice of beers on tap, friendly and professional bartenders and one of the best, if not the best, hamburgers in San Diego. A local jewel.
This is my favorite burger joint in San Diego. Hands down. Also my go-to on a Friday night. The menu doesn’t have a lot of options but what they do-they do absolutely right. First off, bring cash or use the atm outside. This is a cash only place. You have your choice of water, soda, or a great selection of beers. Hamburger or cheese burger, 1/3 or 1/2 lbs, lettuce tomatoes, pickles, raw onions, or grilled onions, bun or no bun. Hot peppers on the side. There’s sidewalk outside seating. There can be a wait in peak times but it’s worth every second.
Great burger rivals Cassidy's in Newport Beach. The bouncer is also a host and will get you seated. Everyone respects him and he's so nice.
My son and I were in town for a visit when we decided to sit down for a good ole fashion Rocky Burger. I let little Johnny get the half pounder and oh boy did he love his Rocky’s burger!
We decided to go out for a burger but in a casual setting, we ended up finding this pub/bar on TripAdvisor. When we arrived it was already very busy and parking was a bit of an issue, we did get seated outside almost instantly. The menu is pretty small just a burger or cheeseburger in 2 different sizes. We both did the cheeseburger and i must say we was not disappointed, the burger was pretty good and was well worth the trip. The wait on the burger was a bit longer then in most other places we ate at but it was def worth the wait. Overall very nice
It has been a minute since my last burger here and took a newbie for his first. The burger was a 10 and so were the hot crispy fresh fries. Just like a burger u would grill in ur back yard! The beef flavor memorable! Will be back next week with another first timer!
Had a working lunch here, we had the burger special. As always the burgers are very good and the staff is very friendly. I would recommend Rocky's for lunch whenever you are in the area.
The story is that I was led here by a bartender in Hillcrest. The stranger told me of a place that made burgers from out of this world. I chose this quest, and made my 3 month voyage and finally tried it out. So here I am at Rocky’s Crown, and I’ve devoured the 1/2 lb cheeseburger. All I can say is “yes”, they cooked the beef to perfection. Quest complete! Also the staff are more than friendly and the beer is delightful. Cheers!!!

How this place got 4.7 stars is just beyond me. The quality of the food matched the temperament of the service. It just plain sucked! In n Out has better burgers. I can do without smug waiting staff at a burger joint.
