The drinks were amazing at this place as well as the atmosphere. The band that was there played really good music and sang in Portuguese which was very different but great to hear. Will be coming back everytime I am in town!

My birthday celebration was almost ruined by the doorman/security person at Prohibition. On Thursday, May 19th we booked a stay in the Gaslamp District. After starting off a great night with happy hour visits to several establishments like Café Sevilla and Latitude and then a nice dinner at Union Kitchen & Tap, we stopped by Prohibition for after dinner drinks at around 10:30 PM and that is when the evening took a sour turn. My husband attempted to make small talk with the person at the front (again not sure if he was the doorman, security or host but I highly doubt that he was an owner or manager by his actions). I had a drink in a disposable cup which he informed me that I couldn’t take in. No problem at all. I asked him where I should place the cup as I am not one to litter. He then announced out of the blue that “he didn’t like our energy”. Excuse me? We are over 40 and not confrontational at all. I was truly taken aback and it really almost ruined my evening. The owners should check this guy. I read reviews after the fact which mentioned how great the bartenders and staff are inside and that the atmosphere is chill. This is not the kind of guy you want out front. There are too many other places to go without having a ding-dong on a power trip chase away your customers. Luckily, we moved on next door to a welcoming establishment with a great team out front. I’m glad we took our money elsewhere. And of course we told friends and family who live in the area about this terrible experience.

Fun spot with good cocktails and live music. Small venue which I like, would be nice if they posted performance info so you know the genre before going, but maybe that’s part of the fun ?
Came here on our way to beach to grab something to eat and I was not disappointed at all. Food is LA street food theme with a twist. The topping in the hotdogs are great and so is the bacon wrapped hotdog. I highly recommend this place if u want a good bite to eat and is not very expensive compared to other places.
Great atmosphere, drinks, and music. The staff was so friendly, as was everyone else. Glad I stopped by. I also had the best drink I've ever had, so it was an all around great experience. Will definitely be back.
My date and I absolutely enjoyed it! From the ambience to the live music to the very attentive bartender! Definitely will visit again and again. Told my friends about it too and they're coming also!
Based on reviews I showed up early at 8:45pm. At that point there were already no seats (there's very few). 2 drinks were $35 and if you don't get a seat prepare to drink them standing without a table. Was super excited ended up super disappointed. $10 cover, no seats, expensive drinks. Just not cool enough to be worth $55 for 45 minutes.
