Really diverse sauce list that was on point. The staff was very nice and accommodating. Really enjoyed and will go back!
The poke was delicious & I really liked the ponzi sauce I got on my poke bowl.
For a $14 or $18 bowl, customers are defintely being ripped off! And the worst part is your paying a higher price but the salmon is very low quality! Be aware if you go here the portions are a lot smaller than other Poke places and a little less than half of the topping options are an additional $1 charge each!!! There's a half effort apology letter for the increased prices but that doesn't make it okay. Increase your bowl size for the large to make the cost actually make sense. (Photos for reference of the small- $14)
Pokedon in San Diego's College Area is now open!! This little poke shop is all good vibes. The owner, a chef himself, Dennis, knows how to do poke right!!This place is newly re-opened on the scene, but already, it's a place where "regulars" come to eat designer poke and just hang out! There's indoor and outdoor seating here. It's comfy, fun - with boardgames - and the sky - or ocean - is the limit!Design your own poke with white or brown rice, or any choice of greens to a salad! Pick your protein, tofu, tuna, salmon, or whatever your poke-lovin' heart desires. We had a design-it-yourself salmon and white rice, and organic spring mix salad with ahi tuna poke, as well as a veggie poke.I loved my tuna salad poke. The flavors were fresh and vibrant. The tuna was of the primest quality, the salad was a perfect balance and my add-ons, like edamame, lemongrass and the standout aloha sauce made a perfect, flavorful bowl. The kitchen sits in the heart of this restaurant, with clear panes, all the prep work visible, as it always is in the best of kitchens.I love this place, best poke I've ever had!!
Best poke in San Diego IMO. The food is so fresh. You can tell the difference between them and poke 1/2. Was so sad when they were closed down during covid and so happy they are back & open again !
This spot is soooo good! Fish is fresh and rice is so well done. Owner is friendly and has games out you can play while waiting for your food. Love it!
I've only ordered takeout from here, and never ordered in-house, but I can say that the service here is pretty fast and the staff is nice and pretty chill! I've tried both the Seoul bowl (when I want something spicy) and the Tokyo bowl (when I want something more mild) and love, love, love both of them (can't wait to try more!) My mom ADORES their TJ bowl (which is medium spicy!) We eat here when we have doubts about what we want for dinner, so you can safely say it'll never fail you! Get the 1/3 pound bowl of you want a good-sized meal, but of you're a voracious eater or are famished, get the 1/2 pound bowl. You won't be disappointed! I also appreciate that if you don't want to order a pre-formatted bowl, you can build your own. Ordering online is easy!Tip: when you do it through Clover, you get points; however the options to create your own bowl and ordering a pre-formatted bowl are kinda mashed together, so if you picked a pre-formatted bowl, don't add any toppings that weren't included in it. One of the staff members kindly pointed this out to me when I made this mistake, and they did their best to make the modifications I wanted. If you order through Google (Postmates) and not Clover, this issue isn't present.Overall, A++, Pokedon! ?
GREAT poke place right by SDSU!
They definitely skimp on cucumber, edamame green onion ect. Also a green spring mix would be better than arugula because the arugula over powers the favor of the poke. It would have been nice if they had ginger as well. Sorry forgot to take pic before eating
Love this place! It is our new go to spot and it is amazing. The food is fresh and super tasty. I am always excited to be in the area because it means I can get some really bomb poke here. Staff is always extremely friendly as well and the service is fast.
