Me and my buddy go almost every Friday, we love the staff and they always take time to catch up with us and talk about how we've been. The staff are so engaging and personal and we love it. Not to mention all the tables are great, they play well, the felt is immaculate, the bumpers all work and even the cues they have are in good condition. None of the balls have cracks or damage. The drinks on tap are top notch too. I don't think you'll find a more at home feeling billiards hall than Pocket's in San Diego!
My new, go to “happy hr” spot! Now just to be clear, Im not claiming they actually have happy hr specials, but for the enjoyment and dirt cheap price… it certainly feels like happy hr! (To give you an idea, 3 of us playing for 3 hrs on a 9’ w 6 adult drinks ordered, unlimited pink lemonade and garlic fries… came out to a whopping $90ish bucks!) I’ve only been here twice so far… early on Fridays, to get the weekend started w a few hrs of pool practice while sipping on hard Kambuchas (the chilli pineapple is yumm!), since it just tastes better than beer to me and for those of you who share the joys of being gluten sensitive like me… they have other “safe” options besides beer. Early at this time, you can even get one of the two 9’ tables if you prefer otherwise there’s a s#*t ton of 7’ ones… all cloth, balls, and sticks well kept. Bartenders and staff are friendly and wont haggle you if all you want to do is get your game face on. As for music, I havent explored their jukebox, but typically playing 90’s/early 2000’s classics on auto if that’s your jam, but I’m more for non-mainstream Spotify tunes. Now I do plan to hit this place up on a social night to see how things are in that setting and update this review then.
This is definitely the best pool house and billiards spot in San Diego. Great people, great vibes, and great tables. The main bartender, Franco, is a very knowledgeable and passionate pool guy that enjoys teaching new people about the game. He's the main reason most of my friends come here once a week consistently because he's such a great bartender. Definitely go to Pockets Billiards & Brew for all your pool adventures.
Opposite Tesla service center, nice bar and good tables. Fun to hang around while car is getting fixed
Really nice pool hall. They have around 15 7' tables and a few of 9' that are all in excellent condition. They serve beer & wine and some bar food and snacks.
I almost hate to rate it, because I don't want our favorite spot to get too crowded; but that wold be selfish.Great place to shoot pool.My buddy and I go there almost every Friday night -- and some Saturdays too.
I've been here twice now. Fun place to hang out, drink, and play pool. I went on a Friday night and it was a bit busy. My group of friends waited maybe 30 minutes for a table around 8 or 9pm and we were "second in line." A few more groups came in just after us so I think we beat a crowd. I liked the atmosphere; good music, quick service, chill people, nice lighting. And there's plenty of space + seating between tables so that you're not bumped up right next to other groups of people. Overall great ambiance.
Best place to hang and play pool. The staff are friendly. The food is good. Sometimes I do wish for better music to be played. But overall this is the best.
