Great spot to hit for lunch on the beach. This is the only store I've ever been to that made fresh warm tortillas in the middle but I wish these were everywhere. They are absolutely delicious and worth a visit. Also grabbed some carnitas from the hot food area with some chips and salsa. All tasty and I'd absolutely be back to try everything else.
There are two employees there that I really want to give a shout out to, they are both perfect examples of excellent customer service and just over all amazing human beings I have encountered. So helpful, so pleasant and soo kind. Reyna you are indeed a queen, about a week ago I stopped in, at check out, you didn’t get upset that my one year old took a candy from the shelf and ate it instead you said don’t worry about it covered the fee for me. I appreciate you. And Diamond, like your name, you reflect kindness. I didn’t have enough to cover the dollar that I went over, and you helped me out. I so greatly appreciate your kindness. You guys are truly amazing employees and your boss should be proud because he hired awesome, and caring employees. You deserve raises! I will be back one day to repay the kindness you have showed me. They make their flour tortillas right in the middle of the store. So gooood. Grab a basket because they are hot! They have a hot foods from which to choose from, as well as prepared food refrigerated. Nice produce and pan dulce. A lot of Mexican goodies.
To the people complaining about not being helped at the meat department, you have to take a number to be helped. Otherwise it would be madness. This store is great. Yes the lines are long. But worth it because it’s a one stop shop.
I come in here a couple times a week. The hot bar is great and the two young guys who work there are always helpful. The man with the beard who works the express checkout is always friendly too
Fresh produce, great meat selection, fresh tortillas (corn and flour). The flour tortillas had a line forming up. Great pan dulce selection. The store was also clean and well organized.
You wait in 15 - 20 minute lines only to be informed once you're about to pay that they're closing the line. Then you ask why and the response received was "well I'm not going to yell to let ppl know I'm closing the line". Doing your JOB and informing customers even through a fellow worker so you don't have to "yell" is too much for their employees. I guess stupid me right for expecting to be informed I'm waiting my time in line ...
They have everything you like but the lines for everything OMg!Best flour tortillas in San Diego by far though.
