Would not recommend this business. Had an install for a replacement thatch on the books for over two weeks. They never showed and never returned my phone call to apologize. Luckily I didn't give them a deposit since I was going to pay cash. Would suggest Palapa Kings in Oceanside. They did an amazing job and were very reliable.
I was so pleased with my new and improved palapa. The team that did the install worked amazingly well together. They were professional and very knowledgeable. By the time they were done with the install my yard looked cleaner than before they started. I had one small issue & Marjorie from the management office acknowledged my concerns and immediately sent someone over to fix the problem. I highly recommend this company to anyone looking for quality work and great customer service.

My wife and I recently purchased a home that had an old, disastrous palapa in the backyard. We loved the idea of it, but man was this thing neglected and falling apart. I was surprised to learn that San Diego actually has quite a few companies that specialize in palapa repair/construction/etc. I reached out to most of them for quotes, and although there wasn't major disparity, I found Tropical Shade Imports to be among the most competitive. Where they really excelled was in their communication and clear, concise responses. Marjorie was pleasant to work with, and the installers did an awesome job, going above and beyond. Rain stopped them a few times briefly, and they were quick to reschedule follow-ups. They even added a few nice rope accents around the rest of the structure that had not been discussed, but looked great!
I absolutely love Tropical Shade Imports! Not only do they have a great section of palapas, thatch and awesome kits options.. but the service and custom consultation you will get from Marjorie and Dakota is second to none. Highly recommend them to anyone
