The only reason I went here was because of the high ratings. Frankly, it was good but not great. We all felt like our food needed just a little bit more flavor. It's tough because in San Diego there's so much good Mexican food. It was good, just not memorable. We had the mini tacos and burritos (carnitas)

I would come back to San Diego just to stuff the carne asada fries in my mouth again. Some of my best SD memories included the CA fries and watching the sunset at the cliffs. 11/10, would recommend.
I ordered the mini pastor tacos. My first red flag was seeing a lemon on the plate instead of a lime. Second red flag was the tacos covered in guacamole. I tried one and threw the rest in the trash. I'm sure they do something right but pastor is NOT it.

Quick fast, friendly service, order at counter and can eat in or take out. Lots of menu options - tacos, burritos, quesadillas and more. Made fresh. Homemade salsa was quite spicy! Food was very good.
I'm a big guy and the mini tacos (4) was more than enough. Ceviche was great. Will definitely be back the next time I'm in town.
Ortiz’s is one of those hole-in-the-wall places that serves food that is out of this world. Best tacos I’ve ever had in San Diego, hands down.
