We had an amazing time at this establishment!!! Our Server smiled & was very friendly throughout the whole entire service. She was AWESOME!! We went with our church family and they set us up our table pretty quick considering it was fathers day and they were VERY busy. Big shout out to this establishment for excellent food, clean restaurant & greater guest service! It is a MUST TRY.
So yummy! We got our food to go because we are staying at an Airbnb nearby and just wanted to eat at the house and relax. The food was plentiful and so delicious! I got the chicken kabob salad, it was full of fresh lettuce and other fresh vegetables. The dressing was perfection! The chicken was charred excellently, my husband said if he could reorder he would have ordered what I got. My mom got the fish and chips and said it was wonderful and nothing was left so I was not able to try it. We also got the veggie play with the side of tzatziki, which was also very delicious. We look forward to eating here again while visiting.
If you’ve been to Greece, this is how you remember it. Such a cute little restaurant, with covered (heated) patio seating so you can enjoy the weather regardless of season! The service was friendly and quick and the food was incredible. I had the gyro/chicken kabob plate which came with rice, pita, tzatziki, and Greek salad (with a half feta block on top!). You know it’s legit when they give you a feta block ?. Everything was super flavorful and my friend and I both left happy (and with enough left over for another meal!). Pricing was very reasonable ($15.5 for my plate). Would definitely recommend for date night or a dinner out with friends/family!
Love their gyros and kabobs..make sure you ask for extra tzatziki sauce!
Hands down best Greek food in San Diego. Authentic, great quality Greek food. Excellent, attentive service. Nice choice of Greek wine. John runs a first rate restaurant.
I'm generally pretty quick to give a place 5 stars if everything was good, but this place truly deserves 5 stars and more. My partner and I went expecting a cheap, order at the counter, kind of place, but ended up having a really romantic dinner at a very reasonable price. The food was excellent: spanakopita, gyro, lamb shank and baklava. The restaurant has a fantastic, small rustic vibe, and the staff was extremely friendly. I definitely will return here in the future. My partner and I have already said we enjoyed this more than our normal (and much more expensive) date night restaurant.TLDR: Eat here!
I love food but hate when it's all piled up on one plate like this., I had the gyro and spanakoptla plate with salad and pita. All good food but don't like to have to cope with it all on one plate like this,
Having a meal here is like being transported to the dinner table of a local family in Greece! The modest restaurant front makes this place easy to miss when driving down University Ave, but don’t let that modesty fool you… the food is great! The restaurant has homely feel and the covered outdoor patio is definitely a plus. There are also some cute small tables in front of the restaurant, which gives you the feels of dining Al fresco in a little geek town. The service here is excellent. The wine prices are very reasonable - they have a $20 bottle of white wine from Greece that went well with everything we ordered! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. I observed how the servers treated everyone like they were regulars and not just the generic pleasant customer service of many places. The menu has an ample selection that is bound to make you torn between the many delicious sounding dishes. We ordered the House Specialty Greek Style Chicken, which came with herb baked potatoes and a nice sized Greek Salad. The chicken was nicely seasoned, tender and moist and the potatoes were simple but perfectly cooked. The chicken comes with a lemon gravy, which was more of a light lemony olive oil sauce that added just the right amount of acidity to the dish to enhance the flavors. We also ordered the Lamb Shank, which seemed quite popular as every other table had it. The tomato sauce that the shank was braised in was light but flavor packed. The shank was a good size and the meat was cooked perfectly and moist. There have been places that I’ve been to where they over cooked their lamb shanks and the meat was dry, but not here… they do it justice. Unfortunately we didn’t have room for dessert, especially since we found out that the owner comes in every morning to make and bake the desserts! Next time dessert will be a must. So if you’re craving some rustic Greek and Mediterranean food, check out this unassumingly delicious restaurant.
One of my favorite cafés in San Diego! Family owned, great service, reasonable prices, and amazing authentic Greek food. Whether you dine in (FYI they have a great outdoor patio and parking) or you order for pickup or delivery – we have never been disappointed by our food. I am so happy to support restaurants like these that are not corporate chains and have been in the North Park community for many, many years!
Was craving for roasted half chicken and typed in Mediterranean as cuisine option and this place popped up. It was close by, had outdoor seating (pet friendly), and a parking lot. It checked all my criteria on this particular day as I could bring my chihuahua. The 1/2 Greek style chicken ($15) and the House Specialty Greek style chicken ($15) are both the same except the former had a choice of rice, French fries, or mash so I went with that. Also got dolmadakia ($8), hummus ($7) and pita, chicken and beef kabob combo added lamb. Came with rice, salad, and pita. Each dish was huge! The chicken was so moist and hit the spot. The dolmadakia is one of the best I’ve had and it tastes so good with the lemon juice.
