This was the absolute worst experience of ordering a custom birthday cake for my husband's special day. I spoke with Daria directly through instagram. Not only did it take her over a day to respond to each message/inquiry, making the entire ordering process last five days, the cake that I picked up from the shop was absolutely awful. It was done extremely unprofessionally, the caramel started seeping through a crack in the cake, the color was not what I inquired about (asking for an orange cake with additions of red color), the writing looks like it was done by a 3 year old. The colors are unevenly distributed and splattered all over as if without care. I specifically asked and paid the extra $10 for a cheesecake layer, as it's my husband's favorite, and this was the most important part of the entire order! There was no cheesecake inside. Daria refunded me a mediocre $20, and did not apologize. Our special day was ruined with this carelessness and ignorance. I do not recommend this shop to anyone.
This was the worst experience of ordering a custom birthday cake I’ve ever had. Daria did a horrible job both with the cake and her customer service was absolutely unacceptable. Extremely disappointed with the cake. Tasted gross. Not what we ordered. I wanted a cheesecake layer, for which my wife paid extra - there was no cheesecake inside, it looked like a 5 year old did the writing and decor. The cake started to crack and caramel seeped out of the entire cake. It was a pain to place an order as it took five days through Instagram DMs, she only replied every other day to each inquiry. But when time came to pay, she was quick in demanding payment. When we wrote to her that we were disappointed with the cake, she said, “problems don’t arise with my decor when the budget of the cake is higher.” We paid $140 for this cake. Rude, unprofessional, just never again. Don’t recommend this business to anyone. Skip out and order from Russian ladies who do custom cakes in the area. There are plenty of professionals who make phenomenal cakes for prices less that this rip-off business, and who treat their customers with kindness and respect.
I've been wanting to go here for some time and I finally did. This bakery has a great location and cozy atmosphere. Desserts and ice cream were really good and actually less expensive than I expected. Additionally this place is Ukrainian-owned bakery and currently raising money to help support the military and civilians of Ukraine. Great stuff, thank you guys!
Since the recent news story about how the owner is donating 25% of her proceeds to support the humanitarian efforts in Ukraine, this place has become quite popular. I was lucky to get the last items left on the shelf when I went in, and they were delicious (matcha cherry macarons, with the perfect little crisp on the outside and sweetness of cherry within)! Can’t wait to go back and hopefully try the famous cinnamon buns and other treats listed on the menu! As a bonus, her counter is conveniently co-located with Pappalecco, so you can also get a nice Italian coffee to go with your delicious baked items!
Very tasty deserts, unfortunately buns were quickly sold out. Hope I’ll try them next time. I was pleasantly surprised by the delicious coffee. Their decaf cappuccino the best I ever tried in San Diego. A little pricey but worth it. And they donate 10% of revenue to help Ukraine. Nice place.
10 out of 10 Bakery experience! Everything I’ve had so far is fresh and tastes amazing! The pastries are sweet but not overly sweet. Staff is super helpful and friendly. Cute atmosphere.
My friend said his cinnamon roll wasn’t very sweet and was kind of tough. My Nutella muffin was moist and delicious but needed a bit more Nutella in it. We wanted to support this Ukrainian bakery. It’s a bit pricey but many desserts look good. I’ll give it another try again sometime.
I absolutely love this store. I have been ordering birthday cakes for my friends and family from Daria for years now. The fact that she opened up a cute store and sells miniature versions of those cakes makes me so excited! Now I get to eat those amazingg cakes whenever I want
Disappointed by the cinnamon rolls, I tried both the traditional and apple pie. The traditional was extremely dry and had little frosting. Not worth the price
