Super good açaí bowl after a trip across the border was just what we needed. The bowl was fresh. I got the classic and started digging in a couple bites then thought i should take a picture to leave a review! The owner (didn’t get her name) is super nice and was helpful in recommendations. The spot is a vibe too, great place to start your morning!
Picked up a Turkey and cheese croissant for less than $5 and a Thai coffee for a fair price. Staff is nice and there’s lots of seating. No much signage so look for the corner spot next to the gas station.
I finally got to try Ocean Cafe today after reading raving reviews on both Yelp and Google. This hole in the wall location is a hidden gem for some of the best breakfast/lunch food in San Diego for very reasonable prices! I got the PB Chocolate Banana protein smoothie with an added shot of espresso for much needed energy. This beauty was rich, thick, and kept me full and energized for hours. I also got a regular croissant which was IMMACULTE. The pastry was so flaky and delicious - can't wait to come back to try the croissant sandwiches! If you haven't tried out this spot yet, RUN don't walk!
Yum! I had the California bagel on toasted whole wheat, a 12 oz vanilla Carmel latte, and pineapple with mint juice, and all were delicious! Hubby had oatmeal, but he’s not too talkative in the morning, so no rating from him. He cleaned his bowl, though! Definitely going back.
This is not a fast food restaurant. Ocean Cafe offers freshly made healthy food that's also incredibly delicious. From smoothies to acai bowls to breakfast sandwiches and even burritos you can find a healthy alternative to the run of the mill food you find in the mass produced food restaurants. Everything made fresh to order. Super friendly staff.
We ordered through Caviar for breakfast. I got the peanut butter oatmeal smoothie. My boyfriend got the sunrise bagel with turkey and the nutella açaí bowl. Everything was mediocre in our opinions. There are much better options for açaí bowls and sandwiches in the area. Too expensive for the decent level of quality and flavor. I had much higher expectations. Will not be returning, and I personally wouldn’t recommend going out of your way to order from here.
This place is such a gem hidden on Ingraham St! Probably the best chai latte in PB!! Spicy and just a tad sweet!! The food is always so fresh and delicious! Lots of vegan and veg options.
SLOW! And staff doesn’t mask. The sandwiches are good but it honestly just isn’t worth the wait and the covid exposure. Seriously slow, even if you put an online order in. They give you an ETA then are regularly 10 minutes slower than that, could be longer.
I don’t normally leave reviews, but this place was just so stinkin good and the customer service was so personable and kind. Best açaí bowl I’ve had! I got the green machine and cheese bread - it wall all SO good! I lived with a Brazilian and visited Brazil…their cheese bread is authentic ? brought back good memories! I wish they had this place on the board walk, it was light and fresh. They need more of those down there.
I am new to San Diego and I was super excited to come to this cafe but received the worst customer service ever. I was very friendly and patient while ordering, even though the women pretended to not understand my English. They had no problem talking to the three Caucasian male customers that came after me and received their food before me. Once I raised this point they apologized and were noticeably nicer, but it shouldn't have happened. I wouldn't recommend you come here if you expect people to treat you with dignity and respect upfront, no matter what you look like.
