The best burger EVER!!!!
Great food and super service!
Excellent fried catfish and shrimp. The batter was amazing, seasoned perfectly, fried crispy yet light. Highly recommend the fried catfish, fried shrimp, bread pudding and red beans & rice. Inside and outside seating available. Cute, modest size restaurant, located in hillcrest. Lot parking not available, only street/ meter parking. Unfortunately customer service was disappointed this night, a Thursday. They are severely understaffed plus they had a large party dining, which did add to the already limited staff. The server was acting as the bartender as well. I will visit again because the food was delicious. Hopefully we’ll have a better service experience, this is the reason for my low stars. I will return in the future.
Amazing Nola food, you won’t be disappointed at all….
Great service even though they've been understaffed - their attitude and service has been amazing.Order the chicken and waffles and OMG. They got it got down. Highly recommend splitting the dish as you'll want to try other items. Don't forget the biscuits!
First time there. Tried 5 different dishes. Did a share tasting with a friend. Outstanding! The blackened cat fish melted in my mouth. The red beans and rice was bowl licking delicious. Did not lick the bowl. Food service very pleasant. Enjoyed chatting with the owner Andrew. Already planning future trips with my wife and a group of friends.
The food is A-1 and the people working there are amazing! Is you like a taste of southern food this is a good choice!
Nice staff, great southern comfort food, convenient location near Balboa park, just drop by for a bowl of happiness and a beer or two!
The food was not very good and the service was slow (most likely understaffed, I have sympathy there). Staff was very kind and helpful, nice location, and we had a great spot. The biggest killer was the food; it lacked any flavor or soul and all of the sauces seemed translucent. Red beans and rice was decent and fries were good. Shrimp and grits($17), shrimp etouffee($17), meatballs($11), were barely edible. Definitely scratched off the list!
We had the lunch special of 1/2 a po boy and one of the comfort bowls. Great value at $12 and great tasting food!
