I love, love, loveeeee this place! Wow! Such an incredible, tasty experience each time I come here! Pictured is the vegetarian delight with no egg noodle and no tomato! It is heavenly, and feels like a warm, comforting hug that could make even the worst day feel like hope is around the corner. I highly recommend coming here, the ambience is clean, there's good music and attentive staff! The edamame is also very delicious and I would recommend trying that along with your ramen. Everyone I take here always leaves with a full belly, no leftovers and a smile on their face. If you can, you got to try this restaurant, it's unforgettable!
Busy place. Great food; good quality. Friendly atmosphere. The wait can be lengthy at times. With this menu option..your table of friends and family can be “fun” with the choice of balls.High chairs available. 1 bathroom. Paper straws.
This is my second review for Nishiki ramen(go see TripAdvisor/Yelp). Located in a heavy Japanese area(markets and food spots around) I went back for lunch.I took the lunch special, braised beef ramen and another order of takoyaki. I know there isn't a tokoyaki spot in SD to fix my cravings, they added some chow mein croton which was weird. They didn't do that before. Nothing special on the takoyaki, just picky. The ramen was better, maybe I'm not a black garlic type of ramen guy. The braised beef went well with the ramen. Umami of the beef and broth was highlighted. Broth good but didn't hold the heat long enough. Noodles were simple and slurpability average. In all, it was better than some of the speciality ramen the have. Simple braised pork ramen was better than black garlic. Hasn't changed my ramen ranking tho. Not in my top 3 but maybe an occasional spot to break the other ramen norm.
I liked this place but not quite a 5 star. Ramen was good. I liked the vibe of some semi-loud and upbeat music. The House Sake is something to stay away from but Ramen and Chicken Appetizer were good. Will be back but try other places first.
Nishiki is my sister’s and my favourite ramen restaurant in San Diego. Don’t get me wrong, because there are several great ones! We both love the smoke bomb black garlic ramen and Russian roulette takoyaki. The tonkotsu broth, fresh noodles, and perfectly cooked eggs are fantastic. The latter is good but also more for the entertainment of who gets the wasabi one. The last few visits, we were outside in the parking lot tent, but they’re back to indoor operations now.
I visited this place on a Wednesday evening, there was no waiting queue and we easily got a table for four. This was around 8pm. I ordered their chicken karaage! I'm not a fan of fried chicken. But here I felt like reordering it!Please do try it. Strongly recommend it. The dip that comes along with that karaage chicken also had a very nice taste.I also had the chicken ramen. I wasn't very impressed with the broth. I have had much better broths before. But overall the ramen was good. I added an extra topping of roasted garlic to my ramen. It was really nice.I would like to visit this place again and try their other ramen!
Always really good broth and hot ramen. I've been here multiple times and it's always mind-blowing. The staff are all really friendly as well.
Ordered chicken ramen and curry vegetarian ramen. I just love the broth curry vegetarian- it’s actually a treat for Indians because it tastes little bit like Maggie :D You can add hot or death sauce to make it more spicy which again I totally enjoy.
Had the #1 and the shoyu, along with some kaarage. Karaage was solid and shoyu broth was pretty good. Ended up being pretty disappointed by the broth of the #1 - really salty and fatty but not a lot of flavor beyond that. The meat and noodle quality was also just average. Overall it’s not a bad place to drop in, but considering the huge line me and my friend had to wait in, probably not worth coming back.
Good Food…. Good Ambience …. Reasonable Price
