Bartenders are so mean and bad vibes all around. The bartenders think they’re all that and literally won’t tell you what drinks they serve, saying it’s not worth their time to tell you, but they’ll spend a lot of time making sure you know that. Probably the worst bar in San Diego vibe wise, like being transported to South OC

Really fun country bar in the Gaslamp District. Variety of music. Great dance floor and yard game area.

Had a lovely experience entering with the front door staff and really enjoyed the music throughout all of Moonshine Flats. However, I was really disappointed with the attitude of one of the bartenders in the front bar - she was wearing a red top, denim shorts and working the Saturday night the 25th of June. She had served a girl who I had just met who did not tip her for her service and as I asked for her service, she asked if I was associated with her (which I was only just recently) and asked if I was going to tip or not. When I shrugged my shoulders in shock, without hesitation she said she was not serving me if I wasn’t going to tip and said to go to another bartender. Quite disappointed with this attitude to seem to only work for a reward as opposed to enjoying the service and being friendly in one’s work. Shame as this bar is great but such an attitude shouldn’t be acceptable especially when everyone’s individual circumstances differ and may not be able to provide the gratuity she demanded.

Great place to chill with friends! One room has some games and sitting areas, and the other is club with a stage and balcony. Lots of fun..

Amazing place! Had a great time. It has multiple bars. Two sections. One that is for hanging out and the other to rock out. They have concerts and it was jammed packed. Outstanding I had a great time!

TL;DR - Someone else said it, but it was spot-on: the city version of a classic country bar. If you want good, live music on a Fri./Sat. night, you've got to stop here! The energy is great, the bar staff is attentive to your wants/needs, and the dance floor gets full, but not overwhelming/crowded.There will be a line by about 10pm and a cover from 9pm on, so go early if you want to check it out. I highly recommend visiting at least once!Super shoutout to Samantha, who took care of me and my buddies when we were there recently. It was greatly appreciated and won't be forgotten!Full Review:Moonshine Flats is only open Thurs. - Sat. nights, which is unfortunate, but keeps it more unique in the Gaslamp District. It is somewhat of a traditional, country barn kind of set-up but way roomier and with barbershop chair rides. (Ask for Hannah, she's a master at it!)The drinks are solid! I personally recommend one of the bucket options, since they're 2-in-1. I seem to always end up getting most of my drinks from Erik, but I'm not complaining because he's good at making them. The music is primarily country, of course, but the performers keep it fresh. Also, there are line dancing lessons there for free before the late night and they know all the dances. There is bottle service available for a few spots around the building, depending on group size, and they always seem to get filled up quickly.Lastly, if you follow the hallway just past the bathroom area, you can check out The Deck, which is also great!

1st time in San Diego a night here to be remember! A Nashville type feel with good country music and plenty of room for the folks who like to line dance. The night I went was shoulder to shoulder, so be aware, there is technically no front or back of the bar so when your Uber is there to pick you up, be specific on which side you are on or else you may have to travel to the other side or miss your ride. -Have a great time and tell Jasmine from Boston I say hello! ❤

Great line dancing. We had a great time.

I didn't realize this place was here because the dance floor is way in the back past the restaurants and bathroom and it's a very large dance floor. Lots of nice people there great time.

Great fun place to visit to get the city version of a country bar?.. Live band's make this place special. Clean place and nice friendly staff members. The $700 min bottle service for a small 4 person both is a bit ridiculous??. But I guess it must be OK.. Because they were all full. The bucket drinks are a cute touch and reasonably priced.
