Finally got to try these mochi donuts!Perfect chewiness and not too sweetThey have different flavors every week so you can check onlineThere was a long line but moved quickly. You can also order online and pick up. Parking in this area is always challenging.
Very different assorted array of flavors that I truly enjoy. Nice, clean interior design. Sufficient space inside seating. Only thing is their location. The parking, more times than many, can be a pain. But the parking structure, for a small fee, is right behind the building.
The donuts here are made with mochi so they’re slightly more chew compared to donuts you’re used to. I used to go to this donut place called Mr. Donut when I lived in Japan and these come very close to those! I love that they have new flavors every time I come here!! And they never disappoint!
Photo is of the black sesame and the mango, but we enjoyed four other flavors as well. All were yummy, but my favorites were the black sesame and the Vietnamese coffee! Sooooo good. Perfect birthday treat!
I think it's my life goal to try all the mochi donut flavors Mochinut has! For the churro, funnel cake, lychee, and ube ones today! Churro and ubo were underwhelming. I wish they had the classic strawberry class on the funnel cake one. But the lychee hit it out of the ballpark! It was strong in flavor and definitely lychee!Half a dozen for $15. I remember it listed 3 for $9. Can remember how much a dozen is.
Definitely a new experience for me. I love that the donuts can be broken into small pieces so that multiple people can try the same donut. Also the texture is so satisfying. The storefront is also very clean and organized, staff was kind and pretty funny. They were accommodating to Roxi my service dog. There's many options to choose from. I bought the Mocha, Milk Tea, and Churro flavored Mochinuts! Milk Tea is a pretty big surprise that to think everyone should try!
Years ago during a visit to Japan I was obsessed with Mr Donut's Pon de Rings. Was intrigued to hear a place in SD were focused on these so had to stop by. Went when it opened and there was a small line out the door. Donuts range from $9 for 3 and $15 for 6 with 5 flavors daily that can be found ahead on Instagram. Decided on trying all flavors available. The chewy texture was very similar and I liked they weren't super sweet. May be a while till I can go back to Japan, but was nice to have a similar taste of these again. If only parking wasn't such a pain I'd want to come by more often.
Delicious right out of the oven donuts. We purchased the raspberry, pistachio and brown sugar.I sampled all three and they were soft, little chewy and mild sweet!Lines were out the door late into the evening.Fresh donuts were constantly brought from the back with one main person working the counter.People were snapping photos of themselves and their ? donuts!
Love their donuts ?! They have a lot of flavors, I highly recommend matcha one.
I first visited Mochinut in Korea town in LA about a year ago. I loved all of the different flavor options and the texture of the mochinut was unlike anything else. When I saw we were getting a location in San Diego, I was excited. Luckily the lines have died down some and they've got the lines moving quicker. When I first came the wait was about 30 minutes, now I am out in about 5 minutes. The good: The flavors change every three days so there is always something new to try. The texture is different from a normal donut. My son loves tearing off the pieces, it makes it more fun to each. The bad: I wish I could buy 1 at a time or that the three pack would be available every day, not just Tuesday-Thursday. Smaller quantities should be given as the menu even states they should be consumed in about 3 hours. 6 is too much for 1-2 people. The parking lot is small, so the parking is difficult.
