There are very few indian restaurants that can give you authentic taste in usa & this is one of them. Whenever we visit san diego we eat here. The food is amazing and owner is very welcoming. I highly recommend it!
Bland bland bland lentils, I did like the rice and Naan, masala is also bland, green sauce is good, but wouldn't recommend as Indian cuisine, more like cheap Indian taste.
Tiny portions, big prices, stale (tasting) bread, weird signs on the wall, rude manager getting up in my business all the time. The only thing that's good about it is the location because it's ridiculously close to my house, but 9 times out of 10, I'll take a one hour bus to Hillcrest to get the Indian food fix I crave.Edit: bro, I didn't complain about the a la carte 16oz size. You only commented about it to show you know who I am. Stop getting up in people's business all the time. It's weird.
I have been looking for good Indian food since I moved to San Diego 8 years ago. Today we got lamb Tikka, lamb vindaloo, butter chicken, and bel phuri. No other place has bel, so I was so excited to get it. They did forget to add the chutneys to the order, but that can happen. Each dish was excellent, and it was the best vindaloo I've had in about 15 years. A little heavy on oil, but we just drained the excess. Naan orders were surprisingly small, but now we know and will order more. The food also has some spice which is GREAT! But if you don't like spicy food you might want to communicate that. Definitely will be ordering regularly!!
We went for the Chole Bhature and loved them. So well made and very tasty. Had a chance to speak with the owner and his family. They were very welcoming and warm. Highly recommended!
Food was ok. Chicken tikka was good. I got Goat curry that was 90% bones. One of the veggie samosas was burnt and inedible, the other one was good. Bathroom was dirty. This place has gotten depressing worse. I hope it gets better
I wanted to love this place so badly. Boy was I disappointed. Dirty space. Terrible customer service, 3 young men no older than 19 just stared at me rudely, some just chilling at a table, one behind the counter, all employees. The elder boys teased the younger one the entire time he took my order at the cashier. They were speaking in another language and honestly it made me feel very uncomfortable as a woman to have several males teasing and laughing from behind. I’m sure their Aunties would not be happy to see the way they behave when they have the place to themselves. I was willing to forgive ALL of that and just go home and enjoy my food but unfortunately the disappointment continued with the food. I got 2 orders of Naan and it was the most bizarre thing to ever happen to me with a restaurant- one Naan was half RAW. The other order of Naan felt like it was 2 weeks old, it was a brick. I honestly felt like they tampered with my food on purpose and I don’t know why. The other items of food I got were nothing worth spending my money on ever again. I make an effort to only support small owned family businesses when I eat out, so I was really bummed when the neighborhood Indian place was such a bad experience. I’ve never written such a negative review in my life but I think the business needs to know how their employees are representing them and treating their customers.
Food was really good. My son and I enjoyed a good meal there.Owner was friendly.I definitely recommend this place if you want to have delicious Indian food.
THIS WAS THE WORST FOOD I'VE EVER TASTED! I don't ever write a review like this but I don't want someone else to have a horrible experience like I did.I even called them to let them know both of the entrees I ordered were WAY TO SALTY and I was coming to return the food just so they could see I hardly even touched it. My girlfriend couldn't stomach it. I asked for my money back and the employee there was calling for the manager and NEVER answered the phone. So he gave me the managers number and I contacted her. I told her the issue she says she would fix the issue when she got back into the States!? I STILL have NOT received my money back.
Got chicken tikka masala. The price was fair but the taste was not for me. It just didn't taste like chicken tikka masala I've gotten at other restaurants. It was thick and the flavors turned my stomach. I could only take two bites and the rest went to waste. Also, they didn't even have naan. The positive reviews really got my hopes up for this place.
