We chose to eat her while staying on Shelter Island. Great location, easy parking and really good food. Honestly I ate an embarrassing amount of queso with the chips. I would easily come back here when we are back in SD.
Great Mexican food and fairly reasonably priced given the location. The first tacos where perfectly crispy without being too heavy. My mango chamoy margarita was killer sweet without being cloying but could have used a heavier tajin rim.Seating on the upstairs patio offers limited views but nice ambiance.Overall perfectly serviceable Mexican American fair at reasonable prices with a solid menu of margaritas. They were also able to store our luggage for nearly 10 people so could be a good stop pre-check in or on the way to the airport. Parking was limited even during on a weekday afternoon.
Jalapeno white sauce free with chips and salsa, this stuff is delicious and cant be beat. The Calamari Relleno is a unique item and topped with that white sauce.Yum all around

Great food! They took what I was looking for off the menu but the waiter had lots of great substitutions!
We had a good lunch. Love the chips, salsa and cheese sauce. We got enchiladas and Flautas plate. I thought the flautas would be bigger but it was still a good portion. The enchiladas were fantastic and had a great sauce. The waitress was really helpful and was quick with the service. I also got a lemonade drink with ginger ale and mint in it. That was really fresh tasting and was perfect for lunch! Love this place!
Was visiting San Diego and we walked to the restaurant from our hotel. Dinner was very good, I had a corn and black bean burrito. Would come here again.
We wanted to go to a last minute happy hour and found this restaurant on google. When we got there at 5.10pm today we asked if we could outside and we were told we could and were escorted there. We only had one drink each, and we asked for the check at 5.50pm. As we were waiting for the check, we were talking about how we would make it our next happy hour spot and definitely come hungry next time to enjoy all the items they offer for HR. We felt bad we only ordered one drink each, but we were going to leave a handsome tip for the waitress to at least make it worth her while. Our check arrived and as my friend was signing the receipt, Travis comes and tells us: “we have a party coming at 6.30pm, as long as you’re done by then you’re good” and simply turned around and left!!! There was no “hello”, no “thank you for joining us”, NOTHING! The table next to us apologized for him, saying how awkward it was to be told that as loud as he did. When we asked for his name, we were told he was the manager. We wanted to make this restaurant OUR SPOT anytime we came to SD for work, but now, thanks to the manager, we will not come back and warn people against it.
The atmosphere is nice, the staff was nice, food was really good and service was fast. Good prices.
Even as we struggle with variants of COVID-19 Miguel's is open observing safety protocols. And, we appreciate it! The food is as good as I remember it and the service was quite good also. And yes they still have the delicious white sauce for dipping the warm, homemade tortilla chips. Provecho!!
