I arranged with a friend to meet there. I went in to order a coffee and wait for my friend inside the shop but the atmosphere seemed a bit old and very dark. It is not a place where I would like to enjoy friends and a chat. I ended up going to the cafe on the other block and threw the coffee in the trash as it was extremely strong. Unfortunately I don't think I'll go back.
Very expensive. Over $8 for a 20 ounce iced flavored latte. Crazy. And the employee was about as impersonal as you could get. Too many other fantastic coffee places around San Diego to try so skip this one.
Delicious and reasonable prices. Better than 'well known" brands and shops. Lestat's is a cozy, warm, and welcoming shop where single and multiple parties can enjoy the artistic and unique environment while enjoying the food and drinks we all love
I love the seating and the fact that they're open so late, but the guy that closes always sighs if you are there during the last few hours before closing. It doesn't particularly bug me, but it does make me feel like a burden- even to order a drink. At one point, I had been studying there for a couple hours and went to order another drink for to-go. When I ordered, the same guy said " You do know we are closing in...*looks at clock* 35 minutes right?" I told him that I was aware of this, and was ordering the drink to-go. The interaction was really strange, as there were still plenty of people there, and 35 min is a decent amount of time to finish a drink. It's not like I was trying to order a food item or some weird, complicated drink either that would dirty a lot of dished. This kind of interaction isn't a one off one either. Him and a few of the other male employees have been the same way- frequent signing and generally seem put out by having to interact with you. I've worked in customer service for years, so I get work can be exhausting. However, I always try to not make guests feel uncomfortable.
It’s nice place to hangout and study. Some staff are really nice and some staff are just complete jerks. Coffee is not good for the price, their food is a little better quality though.
The coffee and the pastries that they had were all delicious and affordable. I like their espresso it is not too strong. The bittersweet taste of it is my taste.
Great study spot with lots of beverage and food options to please everyone. Prices are okay, coffee was decent but most importantly it's open late and has plenty of comfy space for study with plugs.
This place is not worth the price of tea in China anymore. I love supporting my local coffee shops, but due to their insane mask requirements, I had to find a new coffee shop that didn't force you to walk all over with a mask. A virus isn't smart enough to know if you're at your table or in the bathroom. It just made for a very miserable experience. Also, it opens late, so I found a new place, the forum and starbucks. Is this a restaurant or coffee shop? People generally order coffee early ;) also, dislike all the dogs they allow inside. Last dog shook, and his dander flew into my meal. Will not return again.Ps. The quiche came out overcooked like it had been reheated 5 times. Surely, you can do better than that?
I stopped by this place for a quick bite. It was late in afternoon and the place was randomly filled with scattered people working on their laptops or chatting. It’s a full laid back and casual place. I usually stop drinking coffee after lunch hour, so couldn’t drink that. I had a frittata and that was pretty good. However, I felt 5$ is a little pricy for the piece that I had. However I will return to this place for my morning coffee soon.
Love this location. I visit pretty regularly to knock out some work on my laptop when I need a change of scenery. Lovely staff, good coffee, great WiFi, and lots of power outlets to plug in your computer.
