Best Italian beef I’ve had on the west coast.I only eat meat when I go home to Chicago for an Italian beef. I was feeling nostalgic and decided to give this place a shot. Lefty’s cheesy beef soaked with hot peppers was worth leaving my morals at the door for.Awesome staff too.
They’ve got some yummy food! We spent about 15$ per person and the parking here is HARD to find!!!! There were a few parking spots by the restaurant but only a few… We ended up parking in the Jack in the box and walked to this restaurant This place has indoor and outdoor seating but both were tiny, probably 12 people for outdoor and 6 can fit in the indoor seating area. And there was no AC inside so we decided to move to outdoor seating to get some air.This place is well decorated with some cute stickers and pizza decorations. I love the open window that you can see through the kitchen while they make your pizza!We had two slices of the deep dish pizza (pepperoni and sausage flavor), loaded fries and a C.B.G.B. aka the Italian roasted beef sub. The pizza was decent but we were really impressed with the loaded fries and C.B.G.B.The loaded fries were really good! The blue cheese and some fat pieces of bacon ? were the highlights but the size of the fries was a little small.The crispy garlic bread in the C.B.G.B. was my favorite but you gotta eat it fast before it gets soaked in the sauce! The beef was tender and flavorful!! Highly recommend!!The staff was really nice, helpful and friendly! She gave good recommendations as well! We really enjoyed our food there!
Going to Lefty's was definitely the wrong turn. Came here based on good reviews so I was really excited to try their pizza. Unfortunately I was left extremely disappointed. Both pizzas I ordered had no flavor and crust was very dry. The cheese was low quality and the tomato sauce seemed like they just threw on some Hunts canned tomatoes. I felt sick after eating it. I called in hoping to get some sort of resolution, but the owner, Lauren, was extremely rude. Her attitude was just as bad as the pizza. First thing she said when I told her about my dissatisfaction was "is this what you do at McDonald's?" Then hung up the phone on me. Last thing she said was to go somewhere else and I will gladly do so. I will happily take my business elsewhere and make sure everyone I know doesnt make the same mistake I made.
Great find thanks to TA. It is mostly for take out / delivery but there are some seats and tables inside and 3 larger tables outside. Served quickly and food arrived in a timely manner (they say 25 mins for a deep pizza) piping hot and fresh. Absolutely delicious don’t miss out
I had heard about Lefty's for some time and finally got around to trying and it was so good! We got the deep dish pizza with pepperoni and sausage along with the chicken tenders and man, it did not disappoint! It was a lot of food and so delicious that we had a lot left over. & this pizza tasted just as good reheated. If you love pizza, you should give this a try! It won't disappoint! The staff is also super helpful, chill, nice and will help you if you are unsure of what to get.
Pizza, mozzarella sticks, artichoke garlic bread was good. Big portions worth the money and drive.
Came in and got a Chicago style slice as well as a thin crust slice. The Chicago had a spicy pesto sauce that was very good. They sell by the slice and all they have to do is warm It back up for you. You sit outside in a series of tables. Everything was as expected and it was a good meal.
So as a native Chicagoan, this pizza is pretty lackluster. The sauce has almost no flavor, mostly relying on any toppings you get. I appreciate the fresh veggies used, but there was something genuinely off about the deep dish..maybe not enough cheese? Buffalo tenders were so soggy & the blue cheese served with it was extremely watered down. The workers were nice..I was just very underwhelmed by the food. & this isn’t just from COMPARISON to Chicago-style pizza..it’s from the overall flavor profiles & quality of the food. Probably wouldn’t return.

Gotta do a deep dish! Good can and bottle drink selection! It's tiny plan to eat outside, there's Bird Park a couple blocks away with a good SD skyline if time allows a walk.
