I finally got to eat at Ken sushi. I’ve moved from LA to SD in 2015 and always drove by on my way to work. The place is happening- long lines of beautiful people enjoying their dinner with friends, family, or colleagues. The 40 minute wait was worth it. Every bite chef Ken made was incredibly delicious. You definitely get your money’s worth. I celebrated my friends birthday (friends that moved from San Monica) now living here in SD. We got the special (5-7 sushi plates) with a final refreshing green tea ice cream ?. This is definitely a must go to eat the best sushi ever.
When it comes to sushi, no doubt there is NO BETTER in all of San Diego County than Ken's! The quality of the fish is supreme, the preparations is masterful, the taste could not be better, the service is first class. Yes, the prices are high, but if you want the best you have to be willing to pay for the best. There has not been one single time we don't have a 10 out of 10 experience at Ken's Sushi Workshop. If you want to witness the mastery sit at the bar. My family and I like sitting outside. We go for sushi here as much as we possibly can, and every time it is succulent and we leave happy and satisfied costumers. Ken Sushi, WE LOVE YOU!
Amazing sushi and a great selection of desserts and drinks. Highly recommend.
First of all I strongly recommend you make a phone call to reserve before coming. I tried to walk in twice but didn’t find a spot.The nigiri sushi was fantastic! I would recommend Toro Uni Truffle Nigiri which might not be on the menu but you can ask the waiters. And for outdoor seating you can sit in the transparent tent / bubble which might be fun.

This off the beaten track sushi restaurant ranks at the very top of my favorite Japanese restaurants in the greater San Diego area. Chef Ken serves the highest quality of fresh fish in the most imaginative ways. Patrons can dine indoors (sushi bar or a few tables) or outside on the patio. The service is excellent and the staff is extremely friendly. Reservations are strongly recommended.
No need to fly to Tokyo or Osaka - the fish that Chef Ken serves up is incredible in quality and fascinating in its diverse sourcing. We had omakase at the counter and each item was better than the previous. The staff is attentive and Chef Ken is a delight. Can't wait to return.
The freshest and best sushi we have had in San Diego. We had the smoked toro for dessert and it was a delightful way to end an amazing meal.
I’m from the country parts of Illinois and I’m certainly not a cultured individual but this sushi restaurant is absolutely on point. Ken does a fantastic job and the environment created by the customer service and waitresses and waiters make this place a stunning location. Highly recommended!
Had an incredible experience last weekend at Ken Sushi! This was our first visit, and I was truly impressed with the quality and the fun atmosphere! This place has a good balance of feeling trendy and upscale, combined with the vibe of a friendly neighborhood joint. I had the Omakase, and was very pleased with both the freshness and quality of the fish, as well as the creativity and technique of the chef. It is not cheap by any means, but I wouldn't say overly expensive either, especially considering the top notch quality. Instant favorite!
