Im not sure what all the rave is about, but the Pad Thai and Panang Curry are both subpar. Tons of leftovers because it wasnt very tasty or flavorful. I would not recommend this spot.PS I am originally from the Bay and this spot wouldn’t even compare to the dank Thai spots we have up north.
WoW!!! I got bummed when Supannee sold her spot in Point Loma as it took a step down, and 55 Thai wasn’t close by to where I live.. Kanda was just ho-hum but this place took my boring day cleaning my storage shed on morena and tuned it into one of the best food days I’ve had!! I got punched in the mouth with more Thai flavors than I’ve ever had harder than a rockford fosgate T1 subwoofer hits on a 2000 watt amp… if you like good flavors and premium foods, come to this warehouse style location… the little ladies working inside here are pushing out quality Thai Flavor Bombs.. look at my pictures.. it’s not as ornately decorated as supanee but the flavor is premium. The chicken broth they give you to drink with the steamed chicken is excellent. The Thai tea was a superb flavor compared to most the other Thai teas in town.. and they cook the boba fresh every day if you want to add boba.. chicken wing appetizer is hand prepped chicken and not heat and serve Sysco delivery kind.. super yummy..
The steamed chicken (or actually Hainanese chicken) is fantastic! It would be better to have the chicken oily rice but only white rice was available for this time.
I've been here three times now since my adult daughter brought me for the first time a couple of weeks ago. The food is delicious and I didn't have to wait long for it. Nice, clean place, friendly, helpful staff. I'd like to see nicer bathrooms in there though.
Well prepared and very reasonably priced. Good for a quick stop or take away. The green sauce could be hotter.
Pad ee see we was amazing with chicken and tofu. Wings were really good. Thai tea was great! Overall it was a really good take out thai spot for us! Ate here twice while visiting San Diego.
A local favorite of mine! Simple Thai food great for everyone. I recommend the lettuce wraps, pad see ew, and the Thai tea with boba!
This place is really good, I always drive past year, and I came here with my friend. We decided to have break here, and I love Thai food, because of the flavor. My friend got the homestyle plate, and it was so good, the fried rice was amazing, and you should try the peanut sauce.
Delicious! Not fancy but food is great.
I'm not normally a fan of Asian cuisine as it tends to be unnecessarily greasy. However, as a treat in College, I decided to order a party portion of Chicken Pad-Thai for my entire class as I was doing a presentation on Thailand. It was a hit. And when I managed to taste some of the leftovers, I understood why. Absolutely delicious and not overly greasy.
