Worth the wait. I love trying out ramen houses whenever I travel and HiroNori did not disappoint. Service was quick and friendly and their Tonkatsu Ramen may be one of the best I've ever had, layered with flavor. This ain't no simple broth - wonderful. Their hand cut thick noodles stood up well to the broth and we're perfectly prepared. I will return!
Service was quick and good (their water is refreshing...infused with some fruit) and food was good. All ordered tonkatsu, and an order of the crispy chicken which was really good (forgot picture). The only so-so thing was the spicey tuna rice bowl but everything else was good.
As much as I thought I knew good ramen, I apparently didn't know good ramen. This is simply the best I've had anywhere in the states, and San Diego is fortunate to have them here. Wait till you try this, you'll be instantly happy and will understand the chefs' mission (to make the world a happier place). It works.
First time here and so far I think it'll take the top place for Ramen here in San Diego, the ramen is deliciously bold, the broth it's absolutely tasty and different from other places. The service it's great. It's a busy and small place, the waiting it was about 10 minutes though, and it's worth it.We tried the crispy rice with spicy tuna and it's also very tasty and the combination is textures in the bite makes the experience out of ordinary. Definitely will come back and try everything. Highly recommend.
Ramen is actually Japanese level authentic! The hot sauce and garlic sauce are both way better than you'd expect and mixed up with the broth well! Had to wait longer for a one person seat last night, which is totally not the shop's fault as this guy decided to be on his phone for 20 minutes after finished. The shop actually noticed my extra wait and switched the order so I don't have to wait for my noodles after seated. Very heartwarming!
We had to wait a bit to be seated but it was all worth it. Everything (including the water) is delicious here. I had the vegan ramen and my friends had tonkotsu ramen. The broth was delicious and heartwarming and the noodles were perfect. Nothing more to say.
Can't speak for authenticity but the food was delicious! I'm slowly getting my taste back after Covid and, strangely, I can only taste certain things so I'm glad I could somewhat taste this. We shared two pork buns. My 2 yr old ate half of one (except for the pickled onions) and asked for more but we had already finished the rest because I didn't think he'd be that interested. Oops. My husband enjoyed his Shoyu ramen and I enjoyed the Tonkatsu ramen which I shared with my toddler. I took a picture of him because I've never seen him eat anything like that! He was ravenously drinking the broth and shoveling noodles in his mouth! He even ate some of the spinach attached to the noodles! Safe to say we'll be coming back!
Located in Hillcrest, the ramen spot is hidden in between a side street and restaurants. When they say craft ramen, it's really good authentic craft ramen.The decor was nice and felt more modern than a Ramen spot. They were busy and the waiter forgot to bring out my soda and a ask twice, no biggie. On to the ramen.I ordered the kaarage and Tonkotsu ramen. Kaarage was freshly made and juicy. The ramen broth was very rich and creamy. Not too strong and maintained the broths hotness. The noodle was good and it held the broth well. Slurpability at 9. Pork was juicy and for the size wasn't dry like most.If you seen my reviews on TripAdvisor and Yelp, this place is hands down #1 ramen spot in San Diego. I compare it to spots in Hawaii and gives me good Japan ramen vibes. It's perfectly good craft ramen. I recommend it. Well, on to the next one. Itadakimasu!
I love this place! The ramen is so good! I want to recommend this to all my friends that visit from out of town. The tonkotsu ramen was really good. The noodles, broth, and chasu cuts were all great. The staff were an very attentive to your needs.
