Low key good boba spot. Not much around the place, a Mexican food shop and hiddenfish next to it. When I was in Japan, there was a hella long line at Gong Cha. To find one in San Diego, I had to see.It has a good simple decor and I like it cause it's not as hectic or photo driven boba spots around the area. Brown sugar boba was on point. I guess it all depends on your type of tea boba your preference is.It's my top spot for boba. Their milk tea alone is better than other spots around. Plus you cam get a free sticker if ya want with purchase.

Great milk tea and a lot of fruit tea options.

I went through a milk tea moment during the lockdown of 2020 as an alternative to hard drinking.Yes, I quit alcohol during the eye of the pandemic by substituting my habitual tumblers of neat whiskies with vacuum-sealed plastic containers filled with pastel-colored caffeinated liquids that artificially evoked the flavor and freshness of fruits. Floating within these bizarre containers were the prized boba - chewy pearls of tea-infused tapioca. My first experience with milk teas was ordering delivery from Gong Cha, a tea shop that many of my friends lauded as the best spot in San Diego for boba-infused beverages. One friend swore by their Earl Grey Tea with herbal jelly, 100% ice, and 50% sugar. Another recommended the Panda Milk Tea with 30% sugar and 100% ice.I ill-advisedly ignored everyone and ordered the Panda Milk Tea with coconut jelly, 0% ice, and 100% sugar. (100% ice was a non-starter for me for the same reason why I would not ask to add tap water.) I also ordered a "Crème Brûlée Waffle" to hit the $10 minimum delivery requirement. After just a few sips of the Panda Milk Tea, my body shook as I felt compelled to randomly shout at my ceiling fan. I imprudently continued nonetheless, each slurp of Panda Milk Tea feeling similar to drinking a lollipop. Upon completion, I ran downstairs and gave my daughter a piggy back ride until she begged me to stop, then I washed dishes by hand, and then I ultimately found myself on a 6 mile run. All things one does when his heart can't stop beating at 140bpm.Eventually, I tried the Crème Brûlée Waffle. Despite being speckled with boba and drenched in mochi custard and sweet cream, it didn't taste sweet -- nothing at that point could, even two hours removed from the Panda Milk Tea fiasco. Over time, I would also try Gong Cha's Earl Grey Tea with 30% sugar, which I would suggest is a "coke high" as compared to the Panda Milk Tea "crack high." These drinks are incredibly potent, even at reduced sugar levels.tl;dr Gong Cha is good if you exercise more restraint than Jay K. did.

Even with “no sugar option” the lemon aiyu is basically lemon syrup with pearls. Staff made no attempt to clarify this at the order. Very different from their branches in Hong Kong where it’s not all sugar drinks.

My friend took me here after dinner and ordered me the London Fog cloud. It was my first time trying Boba Tea and I instantly fell in love!!! I’m totally coming back!

I have only had a handful of their drinks but the QQ sparkling tea is my favorite. Haven't found another place with a drink like this. Highly recommend.

The tea was not strong enough, but I've been here twice and was good. Nice staff.

Our favorite place for best oolong milk tea

Wanted to grab a dessert around 9:40 PM since I was craving something sweet. I ordered a Mochi brulee. Their photo had boba on it but ours didn’t… not sure if it was bc it was 9 PM and they ran out.. the cream was super super salty. I assumed they must have mixed up the sugar and salt~ There were lots of people inside, studying and setting up foe the event the next day. I also got the rainbow peach black tea. It was delicious! I want to come back and try the desserts again. Probably at another location.

The cafe decor is cute and simple. The drinks are pretty great too.
