Normally I am not one to complain but this time I am.My husband and I eat here every few months and have always had great food and service. This time that was not the case. The person at the register was not very friendly and seemed rather annoyed to have to take our order. I did notice the person who took our order clocked out right after so they could have just been ready to leave, not a good reason to at least say hi or something. My husband ordered the pepper steak and I ordered the mushroom steak and cheese fries. We get home with our food and found no mushroom steak. We had the pepper and cheese fries but instead of mushroom we had a Baja. Normally I would just let it go and move on because mistakes happen. This time though is different. I am currently getting chemo and it has ruined my stomach and taste buds, peppers and spicy foods are the worst for me. My husband took the Baja(which has jalapenos) and I pulled as many peppers off the pepper steak I could. They were both good but I could only eat a quarter of mine because it was causing mouth and stomach pain. The only saving thing was the cheese fries, those were as good as they always are.
Great first time experience, only issue is prices online are higher than the store. If you order online your paying more than you would if you order in person.
Ever get a hankering for a delicious lunch and stumble upon the best cheesesteak in San Diego? Well I did and Gaglione Bros doesn’t disappoint! Local beers on tap? Check. Original style cheesewhiz if your into that sorta thing? Check! A pepper and sauce bar? Check!! Great service and do yourself a favor try the garlic fries. ?
I eat here probably once every other week and while I do think they can do better with thier fries they are very consistent and the cheesesteaks are very good. I have had worse ones in Philly when I lived out that way.
I wasn't too sure what to expect from California serving cheesesteak, but I'm glad I visited and next time I'll leave the judging to higher powers?Friendly welcome by female restaraunt cashier. The inside was okay and the service was ready upon pickup. The cheesesteak was delicious, fresh, hot and hearty with meat and vegetables ordered. I will for sure be back when my next cheesesteak crave calls!!
This place was recommended to us through a few people in the neighborhood. They really do live up to the hype. A third location will open next year at the SDSU Mission Valley Stadium area.We asked for the most popular and it turns out everyday is different. So on this particular day we got the mushroom cheesesteak and father joe sandwich. Also a side of garlic fries. We chose steak for mushroom cheesesteak vice chicken. Flooded with mushrooms, grilled onions and melted American cheese. The father joe came with 3 huge marinated meat ball. The garlic fries were garlicky and tasty. It comes in regular, large and giant size. We got the large which is like a foot long. We ate half at the outside dining area and saved the other half for the next day. It tasted just as good reheated.
Garlic fries are amazing.
This was my first time having a philly cheesesteak, and WOW!!! This cheesesteak was amazing. I had the cheese whiz with some garlic fries on the side and both were amazing! I also love the fact that you can sit on a bar chair and see the cook making all the cheesesteaks while you enjoy your own. I will definately be coming back to try all their other sandwishes!!!
This review is for the Gaglione Bros store on Friars Road. Great Mushroom Cheese Steak sandwiches. No need to order extra meat, it comes with lots of it inside and lots of mushrooms and it's so cheesy! My husband ordered a Father Joe specialty sandwich - it was so tasty! This is one of our 'go to' places for a quick meal/sandwich when we don't have time to prepare a meal.
First time back since COVID-19 Pandemic...ordered basis Cheese Steak...couldn't even come close to finishing as meat was SUPER chewy and fatty. Used to be tender and delicious...wont go back.
