Atmosphere was a little loud, service was mad-rushed [except he had time for 2 gals nearby!] We ordered a variety hoping for a better result, but it was terrible sushi! Grocery store stuff is fresher, without a terrible aftertaste! Expensive for daughter and I, $115, & driving home, I wished I could get the bad 'fishy' taste out of my mouth that lingered! I may never trust fish again. [never left a bad review in my life B4 this]
I've been searching for the best sushi place in San Diego for several years now and I can easily say this is by far it! The sushi is so fresh, the dishes so artfully crafted, the service incomparable, the prices reasonable. Our waitress Hayley was so attentive and sweet, she better get her reward from management promised to their employees for a good review; a bottle of sake. The place is bustling, but not impossible or even difficult to get a table at. The interior is beautifully designed and decorated. The whole experience is perfection. Can't wait to go back.Oh and their crab is real crab!! Not imitation!! Even the best places will serve imitation. The only bummer is they're not open for lunch because I'd go, a lot. Wish I had more photos to post but my phone died. I'm definitely going to get more pics next time.
Best sushi I've had in San Diego. Not really a uni person but this place may have changed my mind.
So yummy! We enjoyed all of the rolls and fish we tried. The only thing I am still unsure of was the special brown rice. It tastes great but really changes the texture. The service was excellent. The drinks were delicious.
Very good sushi tonight. I read some of the 1-2 star reviews and was worried. I assume those people didn’t listen to the the server recommendations on seasonal/more fresh specials. How can a list of 5-6 options that were flown in that day be anything but perfect. The service was great and the recommendations were on point. Get the Toro if it’s in season. And the fried ice cream was SO good.
So, this is my 3rd time here in less than a month! I freaking love this place!!! I can't recall all the names but for sure, I've had Eclipse, 3rd quarter, Salmon Carpaccio, & Salmon Rosé. Everything was absolutely delicious, like by far best sushi place EVER!! Also, the whole staff super friendly & the vibes in the right place. They make you feel at home! My waitress Jo, the most beautiful & friendly soul! Definitely coming back ! Great frkn job guys! ????
Ordered the traditional rolls, Shrimp Tempura and California. They were delicious! The restaurant was busy and loud, which is to be expected at a downtown restaurant. I decided to take my food back to my hotel room. I would definitely go there again.
We had great references from the place. My friend Eric knew Jairus Timmons and asked him to be the one to select our dishes. We did not order, we just placed ourselves in the hands of Jairus, and he made such a superb selection for us that we can hardly wait to repeat the experience.
The good: The food was super good, the interesting combination of flavors, the presentation of the food was good, lighting in this place was great for a date night. Bathroom were super cleanThe bad: music was too loud, had to park two blocks awayThe ugly: We had to look for the waiter to give us our bill after waiting for 15 minutes and then on top of that we had to wait 10 minutes to get the change back.
I wanted sushi & someone suggested Full Moon so that is where I landed for dinner. The moment you walk in the atmosphere is warm, welcoming, dim lighting, and feels very cozy! I went solo, but this would be the perfect spot for a date night as well! My server was Justin, and he was beyond wonderful. The sushi was great quality, the service appeared to be team oriented - & everyone stayed busy and was helpful to each other. Previously being a part of the service industry myself, it was nice to see people care about their job and customers. I even saw one of the sushi chefs running across the back! I would definitely go back and recommend this place to others! Thank you for an enjoyable experience :)
