The number of raving reviews of this place is beyond me. I ordered a dozen oysters to dine on site, the oysters came with a very strong rotten odor that was obviously not fresh. I did not have any oysters and asked for return in exchange for new (and fresh) servings, the staff denied and insisted it was fresh will not honor the exchange/refund. Of all my years eating fresh oysters I could not see why the staff insisted it was fresh, if he was willing to pick up the oyster and take a small whiff he would understand - rotten dead smell. I did not have any of the oysters I paid for and left the store, a very unhappy experience and don't understand why the high ratings. If you are going to visit then stay away from the oysters to the least.

They had already sold out of salmon and tuna poke when I arrived in the late afternoon. I was sad, but my bad for being too late. They did have a little spicy salmon poke which was offered to me, but I told them that I am a tuna girl. They brought out the last few pieces of ahi and offered to cut up, which I accepted. To my surprise, after a few minutes, I was presented with a beautifully dressed bowl of ahi poke. I thought I was going to have to diy at home. I ended up buying the rest of the salmon sashimi as well. My family was thrilled with how fresh and perfectly seasoned the poke was. If you want great service and pristine fish, you cant go wrong with Five Oceans. It is worth it.
The lobster rolls are to die for! Amazingly fresh fish and the oysters are spectacular! The lobster roll came with two sides and chips so more than most people can eat In one setting. Staff is very happy to help.
We get fish from the shop at least once a week. It is always excellent! No matter how we cook it. We often call ahead and they have it ready for us. Highly recommend.

Came for lunch, was greeted pleasantly and questions answered politely. I ordered the Crab Melt, when I found out the soup was a gumbo/chowder I was given a cup to try. It was delicious!Thank you Brad!
What a surprise in Carmel Valley! How does fresh and real seafood end up here? Owner is a real deal fisherman who is east coast brash and friendly. Oysters and poke bowls are fantastic. Can’t go wrong here.
