apparently they are individually run, so things are not the same as the one in little italy.almost everything we got at this location was good, but their lasagna brings shame to the filippi name. its just pasta stacked with some cheese on top. there was basically zero ricotta, or any cheese, between the layersweve never been to an italian american restaurant that doesnt put cheese between the layersdefinitely recommend coming for anything but the lasagna. unless you like it with no cheese
Ordered salad and garlic cheese bread to go and be picked up at a particular time. When I arrived (admittedly a few minutes late) the bread wasn't ready and the person assisting me (and unfortunately I didn't get his name) comped my order because the order wasn't ready when I arrived. Assured the host that wasn't necessary but he insisted and needless to say I was very impressed, grateful and frankly very pleasantly surprised. Great service. My friends and I will definitely be visiting thus establishment again
We had a great time here there was nine of us... We ordered extra large pizzas with everything on it it was perfect... The 4 appetizers everything was perfect, I read a review one guy who says the food didn't have taste well it's not the restaurants fault it's definitely His fault, he's mineral deficient he needs zinc, if you consume zinc your taste will be enhanced/ anyway back to the restaurant; we just had the greatest time and I can't say enough good ... Including parking was really easy and there's a really cool remodeled bar next door with live entertainment and we all went there afterwards and had a great time.
The place is pretty good. The food is usually a good sized tasty portion. Historically an enjoyable. I think the covid days has caused some discombobulated discontinuity amongst the staff, but they are trying and courteous. A few things not up to expectations. I wish they would commit to a happy hour menu. I went specifically for something I go there for years for. All of the sudden they tell me its not on happy hour anymore. Very annoyed by that. Don't know if I was being lied to or not, but it seemed Ricky's to me. They really should have the happy hour choices in print. Would make things better and less awkward. I almost walked out. I did not enjoy my alternate order very much.
The food was mediocre. I got a calzone.I ordered for pick up over the phone. There is a sign in the entrance that says please wait to be seated. When I got there it took them about 10 minutes to even acknowledged me. I felt ignored. They could totally see me but they were a little busy. I get that. But at least great your customers. Super rude. Anyways. I'd rather go somewhere my business is appreciated.
I really didn't like this filippis my family is a long time filippis customer including South Bay, Jamul, the one that was in Eastlake, and a few more and this one just doesn't taste anything like it. Don't get me wrong service was great waiter was friendly and attentive but the food, not good. This pizza doesn't taste anything like filippis.
I love the pizza here. In my opinion this is the best pizza in San Diego. I love the thickness of the bread, not a huge thin crust fan, but this is also not deep dish pizza. They are generous with toppings and yet are most generous with the amount of cheese they add on top while not making the pizza a grease pie. I also love the lasagna here, and truth be told I never been disappointed with the food here. The staff is friendly and attentive. The dinning room is fairly large with both outdoor and indoor seating. Please note: since the writing of this review the parking lot has changed. There is now a Starbucks and inn-n-out drive through that has dominated the parking lot and has made coming to this restaurant a nightmare, primarily Inn-n-out. I hope that property management and Inn-n-out work to come to a resolution that does not effect other businesses. I was afraid of this happening as soon as I saw it was an Inn-n-out opening and I can confirm this has occurred to me. I do hope to delete this note in a few weeks when a resolution is made. I will however continue to support this organization and have been advised to park on the side of the patio temporarily to get pick up. I also know there are other locations which I am sure have the same friendly atmosphere and welcoming staff this location has.
Service was not as great as have been in other visits. However we were helped by at least 4 different people. Although service was fine not to our expectations. We had to reach for few things our selves since no one was helping us.We had to go get another cheese jar. A hot sauce bottle, more napkins, etc.The food as always was great! But service is the other half of the dinning our experience. I hope this was one off and things go back to fullfill our expectations in our next visit.
The store was very busy, but staff were great and taking it in stride.Beef ravioli and works pizza were very good.Side salad was fresh, and calamari was pretty good too.Visit this location often, and its very consistent
Just went there with my wife on a date and we were very disappointed. For starters, we ordered mozzarella sticks and at that point I was concerned I had covid because they had no flavor at all. I honestly thought I had lost my sense of taste. For our entrees, we both had alfredo. Consistency was good but again, it had absolutely no flavor what-so-ever. Needless to say, we will not be coming back. This is not a knock on service at all. The service was good. The quality of the food was just flat out not good; Especially for the price.
