Little speak easy tiki bar here. Great tasting and strong drinks. Fun atmosphere, order a big shareable drink for an atmosphere change.
Amazing tiki bar experience and ambience. We loved every minute, and almost came back here on the second night of our trip! I loved the macadamia nut tiki drink, and the one with the banana and coffee flavors (can’t remember the names, and can’t find their menu online to share). They also had thunder and lightning sound effects throughout the night when people ordered a specific shared drink, and the decor was very well done (it wasn’t cheesy like other places). If you like tiki drinks at all, this is the one.
Amazing atmosphere! We went in and and asked if we could request a table for false idol and we’re told there would be wait. The host Anna asked if we could like to get a table or sit at the bar at craft and commerce ,the connected restaurant, and waited no more than 25 minutes to get a table while we got drinks and a snack at the bar. Definitely worth the wait.
Located inside of craft and commerce as a “speakeasy” type tiki bar(no pretentious password or entry required, just talk to the host). Fully outfitted to give you Trader Vic’s vibes with rock walls, colored buoys and pufferfish hung from the ceiling, and a wall full of mugs and rums.Only stopped in for post dinner drinks, but we’re quickly sat and informed we had to be gone by 9, ~2 hours post-seating, because there was a reservation, but that was plenty of time for us. They were packed but me and my girlfriend were served quickly after browsing the giant menu.I had a jungle bird which is pretty standard but delicious. They were out of chartreuse otherwise I would’ve had the chartreuse swizzle.Girlfriend had the el Diablo, a refreshing tequila drink with crème de cassis. Great for easy drinking but interesting enough for avid drinkers as well!Definitely going to come back to enjoy the great atmosphere, would make a great pre dinner drink before their adjacent restaurant C&C. It’s consortium so you know what to expect if you like their formula at born and raised, polite provisions, etc…
Super trendy and cozy speakeasy. You have to go inside the restaurant crafts and commerce to access the bar. Loved it great bar to visit if you are in little Italy area in San Diego.
False Idol is an awesome experience. Located in Craft and Commerce, a not too hidden speak easy tiki bar exists! Definitely make a reservation if possible though they fill up quickly especially for weekends. You can also walk in but it may just be standing room. Try the scorpion bowl type drinks to get the fire and the thunder. The drinks are all delicious!
An awesome spot to get together with friends, go on a date, or whatever the occasion might be. The drinks are strong, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The menu is also extremely expansive so there is definitely a drink for everyone. As you enter, you feel like you're transported to a real tropical hideaway: the vibes are immaculate.
Definitely worth it the experience the vibes the prices the size and quality of the drinks. Highly recommend making a reservation also I believe there is no phone number to call but make your reservation your table can be ready even a little before your allotted time. It can be very loud and service can be a little slow when it's busy also very small right area but overall well worth it and definitely will be going again one of the best speakeasies in San Diego!!
Standing room only unless you make a reservation a month out. That is unless you can go on a week day then it's 2 weeks out. (Subject to change) All that being said it's worth the hassle. Great drinks, amazing atmosphere. It's in the back of Craft & Commerce restaurant. The speakeasy thing is novel but can be annoying. ?
Love this place! Delicious drinks! So much fun! Patrick, our bartender was super nice!! I cannot wait to come back here!
