Ordered chicken shawarma with falafel roll, both were delicious
Beef Shawarma is skirt steak or some other version of cheap hard to chew meat product. Baba ghanoush is on point and at least allowed me to use the wrap to salvage something from the meal.
See, as an Arabic I grew up eating food like this so I am sick and tired of Arabic food but I decided to give falafel California a try because I had heard great things about this place. I ordered the chicken shawarma bowl, and I didn’t have much expectations at first but when I opened the container n saw how many good ingredients there is I was feeling like I got good value. One I started eating it, I felt this authentic yet different flavor for the shawarma that kept making want to reach for more and more until my plate was out of chicken shawarma and still the veggies and sauce made the rice very pleasant.
I ordered 2 shawarma salads, one with beef and one with chicken, and a small tabbouleh. What I was given was the 2 salads and a small container of extra dressing. I went back to the hub to get the tabbouleh and was told that they were out of it. So they just decided to sneak in a container of dressing as if I wouldn’t know the difference. They offered me hummus and I agreed to it. I was given a small container of hummus with no pita bread. BAD BUSINESS PRACTICE.
Wrap/Pita was good as well as their falafel and chicken Shawarma. Baklava is good but not worth the price. For $4, you get a 1\\\" x 1\\\" x 1\\\" piece. It was honestly embarrassing and shamefully small. Housed in Barrio Food hub, which was also confusing.
Some of the best shawarma I've had in the states. I ended up eating my old ladies sandwich so we had to order 2 more. Make sure you get a variety because all the sandwiches are good so you might end up eating more then what you just order. My faves are the shawarma sandwich, the og falafel sandwich, and the chicken shawarma.
Ordered a single hummus Gyro for pick up on a Thursday evening. Took one hour before it was ready for pick up. Would not recommend.

Excellent taste, presentation, service provided(via Barrio Food Hub). My husband and I ordered from two different restaurants on Barrio Food Hub. When it was time to take out our food from our bags... He did not have any napkins or utensils! I, on the other hand, had a bag with a Falafel California sticker on the bag... Inside, a baggy with utensils and napkins... so I shared with him... The servings were very generous! I did not expect what I received. I shared some of it with the husband as well... The falafel was thick and very tasty. Excellent seasoning and taste on all food... falafel, sauces, hummus, salad, basmati rice, chips... I could not have asked or expected more. I have experienced Barrio Food Hub before but this is my first review as I wanted to share the perfect experience with Falafel California to the rest of you. I will be back for more, no doubt!
Warning, falafel California likes to steal from Uber customers, be careful when ordered.I recently ordered from falafel California through Uber eats and never got my order delivered and got charged to my bank account.
