Super run down!I went here about 5-6 years ago and it was great, but went back now (June 2022) and it has really declined in quality.Ambience- the best part of this bar is the fabulous view of petco park. However, the bar is so dirty and there were cockroaches everywhere!! I know it's normal to see cockroaches on the street in downtown, but never have I seen so many in a bar especially one on the second floor! They were all around the floor by our tables, by the bar etc. we counted at least 10 that were scurrying around the whole time we were there- and I would never come back for this reason. Even if not for them, the tables were not being bussed so our table was pretty dirty, the floor isn't clean, and so overall quality of the bar is far below other nice cocktail bars in San Diego (eg. Polite provisions, false idol etc.) The drinks were served in plastic cups and there was only one server working, so I think overall maybe this bar is not getting the funding it used to to maintain its upkeep
Beware of this place. We had just arrived to town for a conference, and decided to grab a quick bite and refreshment. And indeed, we were kindly greeted by the bartender as much welcomed "out-of-towners".
Surf'n Turf Burrito is excellent (and huge). Husband and wife are the chefs and owners! Great ambiance
We had a contract to rent space at this venue since December 2021 for a June 2022 event, including payment information only to be informed a few weeks before our event that they were canceling our contract due to an opportunity they had to now rent out the entire venue. This is an incredibly poor way to do business and, they also refused to return many of our calls when this did happen. Invitations, an event website and so many other pieces of our event had already been invested in prior to them cancelling on us, so needless to say, we are out a considerable amount of money and time and will have to invest even more money to update all of these to whatever new venue we find (assuming we find one with availability that fits our needs). Cannot recommend this establishment.
The owner SIGNED A CONTRACT with us to hold an event on the rooftop and then got a better offer to rent the entire rooftop and restaurant on the same day and cancelled on us less than 1 month before our event! We are out money & time for websites & invitations as well as the hassle of finding a new location and planning a different event! What does Fairweather mean? From Google:adjective [ADJ n] You use fair-weather to refer to someone who offers help to someone, or who takes part in a particular activity, ONLY WHEN IT IS EASY OR PLEASANT FOR THEM TO DO SO.At least they got the name right!!!My recommendation: take your business somewhere else. Integrity matters!
Have you ever had such bad service that you had to create a review account just to warn people?Well, let me introduce you to Ted, the owner of Fairweather Bar. From what I am seeing on the reviews popping up must really not know how to run his business because there seems to be a trend with him screwing over restaurant guests, event clients, you name it.There are so many other amazing spots around San Diego - check out Social Tap, Altitude, and countless others before deciding to pop into this run down establishment.Food is overpriced.Drinks are watered down.Service is poor if you have any interactions with the owner.Venue is falling apart.
We had booked this venue for a private party. We had gotten to the point of a signed contract and submitted payment details and a deposit. We get notice out of nowhere that they decided to let someone else book out the restaurant on the same day/time despite having a contract in place. If you need an indication of what kind of place/management this has, they are the kind that reneg on previous commitments and contracts. We do business in San Dieago regularly, and this could have been an ongoing relationship for the Fairweather. We'll be taking our business elsewhere.
Unbelievably poor owners that do not honor agreements. Have had a contract in place, paid for, and locked in to host an event at Fairweather for nearly 6 months leading up to our event, and they simply stopped communicating with us. Come to find out, they rented the space out to another party the evening of our event and didn't even communicate about it. Not how you do business.
Fun festive rooftop (2nd floor) cocktail bar/restaurant with amazing views of Petco Park, home of the San Diego Padres. I’d say more known for their “vacation” drinks more than the food, Fairweather is a hidden gem tucked around the corner of J st. and the ballpark above Rareform. Can usually get a good seat to view the action!
Unreal, the drinks are way overpriced and I didn’t want to leave a tip on purpose because first of all I am not forced to because the guy served me a beer .. so I crossed out the tip part meaning 0 and the guy must have added a 3 $ tip after I left … unbelievable super unprofessional and tbh it’s a scam to do this without my knowledge. Will never go again and wouldn’t recommend this to anyone .
