My fiancé and I stopped in at Encontro for brunch, I was looking for savory, and boy did they deliver!!I got the cheddar tater tot waffle, and just thinking about it now makes me hungry. The chef who came up with the idea of a putting this plate together is pure genius.Liz was our server, and she was super friendly - we chatted about us both being engaged when she brought our mimosas - which were also delicious (strawberry purée, yes please). Oh and I asked for some more gravy, and she brought me my own little pitcher of it! ?Encontro earned my patronage, and I’ll be back for another meal soon!
Happy Hour is 5 stars for a Great beer and wine selection, no hard alcohol on the menu. That was okay with me but some may not prefer that selection.Elote fries were killer, great flavor and crisp fries! Tuna tostaditos with seaweed on top was the winner for me, they have these in mini tacos on the menu as well!
Stopped in for a quick bite, grabbed a seat at the bar. The ahi wonton tacos are delicious, definitely get those! I also had the beef sliders, really tasty. I think it's just beer and wine, wish they had some cocktails but the sangria looks good.
Amazing meal and exceptional service! The owner came out and personally welcomed us and recommended the fresh bread, which was warm and delicious! The chicken and waffles were perfect. Chicken was crispy and spicy and the waffles were hot and buttery! Definitely one to experience!
Fairly unsatisfactory. You’d expect a restaurant to put out a decent burger. Especially considering the prices. $20 for a burger and fries. (Fries are a $3 upgrade)I got cold fries and very dry room temp not warm bun. The Cardiff crack that they touted didn’t taste anything like going to Seaside market and getting the actual Cardiff crack.The environment was good though and it’s certainly nice place. The waiter provided okay service, though I didn’t have a chance to complain as it took a little second for him to come back around and I was already way too hungry to wait or approach the waiter in the restaurant.All in all, certainly not worth the price if this is the sort of food they put out.This was my second time here.The first was a few years ago and honestly not memorable. It was only until we sat down that I remembered coming here before.
This place is in a great location, and they have decent food if you are in a pinch. The best part is that they serve Cardiff Crack. There are better spots in walking distance. I actually think their brunch is better than their dinner menu. Also note they only serve beer and wine!
This is one of my daughter's favorite places to dine. She especially loves the truffle tots. The menu is diverse, and the food is very good. The chicken and savory waffles are unique and flavorful, my guest ate everything but the bare bones! They also have out door seating with heaters which we greatly appreciate. It would be great to see some type of glazed crispy pork belly on a stick here, as I think it would compliment their flavor profiles. We will return for sure.

The reviews amaze me and maybe they just treat takeout food like they don’t care. We ordered from True North up the street. Seems like they have a deal with them because the bar instructed us to call and order food and this restaurant would deliver it. Maybe they assume is drunk people with low expectations but we were neither of those. I got my food fast which explains the “fast” quality. The food was bland, stiff and cold. The burgers tasted frozen worst than if I went to McDonald’s except I paid $45 for this way below average food. On top of that You should be ashamed of yourself for how you treat people (or those who this restaurant let’s them represent) after they give you feedback on the food. The delivery server on 1/9 put me through the ringer and bullied me in to thinking I couldn’t get a refund after I brought the food back. I won’t even go in to the girl on the phone taking the orders. Thankfully another tall female working by the takeout stepped up and told me I could be refunded. She was professional and resolved it immediately. Do better, 2, $45 burgers should not be mediocre and below average. They were cold and stiff. Were bland were clearly frozen patties. Train your staff on customer service so they know how to handle situations because they are representing this nice restaurant that screams fast food masked as a gourmet restaurant.
Love this cute spot right on University...has an indoor/outdoor feel with bar style seating at the big windows. The good is great...their salads are incredible. I also had the lamb burger and it was delicious. I have to give a shout out to Jen, our server on both occasions. She was bubbly, sweet and very attentive. The second time we visited (twice in 2 days) was a lot because of her. Anyway, don't miss out this place is great
