Love this place but I guess not all locations are the same. I asked for a 3 meat platter that cost $18 and this is what I got. I go to the one in Long Beach quite often because I work from LA and their portions are HUGE! Then they had a nerve to ask for a tip. Then on top of it all the meat was cold and like chewing jerky. So word of advice. DON’T visit this LOCATION!! Please!
BRISKET WAS SO DRY I THOUGHT IT WAS JERKY. It looks like it's been sitting out for hours and warmed in a microwave when ordered.(Not saying that's how it's done but the results look similar) I called and informed them since I got to-go and the guy kept saying how everyone else likes it but offered to refund if I brought the food back. Thank you for offering but I'm still leaving a review. Hopefully you guys pay better attention in the smoking process.

Back in early January of 2020 before this virus took off I ate here, loved the food so much I went back again, shortly after I got inhumanely sick with a virus that had symptoms extremely similar to Covid, although I did not have breathing issues. It destroyed my mind, ever since I ate there I’ve been overwhelmingly self aware and nervous every time I leave the house, or even my bedroom, I haven’t ever been the same since. Workers there were Russians too and gave me and my mother a strange scan, mom didn’t get sick but eating there has changed me for the foreseeable future. Highly advise you DO NOT eat here, sketchy business being ran here. And i didn’t land in the hospital because this virus lasted only a week, at first we thought it was a awful case of food poisoning. I later realized that after I ate there I became very depressed and anxious.
Great pulled pork and brisket sandwiches.The BBQ sauces are kept hot at the self serve station, so they don't make your meat cold like at other restaurants. The employees are always very friendly and helpful. The prices have increased quite a bit, but the excellent quality is the same.
Love this place! The BBQ is always good and they always have fresh iced tea.
Had a gift certificate that’s what brought me in the owner Sam refused to honor it he was so rude said he never heard of it I said call the certificate company or your corporate office there’s an ID number on the certificate- since I was there I got the food.Got 2 meals one with brisket & chicken the other with bbq ribs & brisket to go. Got home both briskets & very tiny ribs were nothing but chunks of fat! I spoke to Sam again he said too bad - He did nothing you can’t return food!I called their customer service their hands were tied because it’s a franchise. Whoever started this restaurant shouldn’t allow such rude behavior such poor quality food to be associated with their brand they should change the name to Fatty Bbq.
Wish I had read Yelp prior to going many complaints same as mine. Had a certificate the mgr wouldn’t honor it his name Sam the place was empty surely they needed business. As I was walking out the door I said the corporate office will hear from me he said will come back this time I’ll use it or you can go online order via ap same 2 for $25-He actually thought I would step outside go online to order the exact same deal rather than just hand them a certificate I should’ve walked out but since I was there and I said I would try it and bring it home I didn’t use my best judgment and spent money there The food was to go I got home I did see him with another employee she was looking at the box and the two of them started laughing it wasn’t until I got home I saw why they were laughing all he gave me was chunks of fat ! I tried to contact their customer service they told me a regional person will call me that never happened I followed up they said he’s off Monday and Tuesday he should call me Wednesday that never happened Its unfortunate that a franchise doesn’t live up to The mission statement of how wonderful they that was what brought me in there. There are so many amazing barbecue places in San Diego this is one that needs to close down
