Corbin's Q was amazing to work with for our wedding on 6/4/22. When I first inquired about booking them, Corbin invited us to their location in La Mesa for a tasting. While he wasn't there and the workers weren't expecting us, the service they provided was top notch!!!! Even though that was our first food tasting, we knew they were the ones we wanted to go with immediately! We had their portable trailer/grill for our wedding and our guests loved smelling the BBQ all day long! Chicken wings during cocktail hour were such a hit!!! Who doesn't love to get a little messy when you're all dressed up and pretty?? They normally do buffet style but when I said my vision for dinner was family style, they made it happen! Overall, we are so happy with our decision to book them! The food and service was AMAZING!
I’d say this if I had to say anything at all about this place. Corbin’s Q is “Meh” at most. The staff was dope. They made the experience here better than what it would have been. The staff and the prices is where you get your stars. Now……it’s all down hill from here. The Drink Dispenser was broken…might be a one off but…not a good look. The Environment of the place was not great and probably best summed up as ratty. Not filthy. Just almost filthy. So you know…also not a good look.Parking was good. But it was mid day so I found no problems there. You may have a different experience. Just keep that in mind. And lastly the Food…I’m not saying it wasn’t good. It just wasn’t that good. I’ve had better BBQ off a food truck. BBQ is not hard to make, but granted it’s pretty easy to mess up……Corbin’s Q was somewhere in between okay and oops I messed up.
I got the sampler with extra pulled pork. The chicken and pulled pork were good. The Mac and cheese tasted smoked it wasn’t bad, but please note it is not southern. The “baked beans” tasted more like chili beans which was so disappointing because I waited for them to be finished.
South California BBQ. Pricing on website is outdated by nearly 50% (as off 04/22) Beast Feast $29 on website $44 on site. I thought the idea of a combo is a little price reduction. The difference between Beast Feast and Sampler is half a rack of ribs and they just add the regular single sale price. Taste was okay, but not more. Ribs okay, Pulled Pork on the dry side, Tri-Tip tastes like Tafelspitz, coleslaw tasted off and the size of a portion fries is a joke.
If you like kalua pork, you're going to love the pulled pork here. The barbecue sauces are also yummy.
I love this place. Been coming here for a few months now for takeout and it's always so delicious. The food is fresh and filling. My Dad usually gets the ribs and I get the pulled pork fries and we love the potato salad too.The place is always clean and well stocked. The biggest thing for me is the customer service. It is amazing. The workers are always so nice and are good at their job. Not once, has anything been missing from my order.Good customer service is so rare these days and also making sure everything is in the bag is rare these days too. I heavily base my reviews off of these things. So I am truly appreciative of their amazing service and great work ethic.Great food, service, and cleanly place with workers that actually do their job. Definitely deserves a five star rating.
We’re wintering in town and have eaten here 3 times (same order) in 4 weeks. Patti has the half rack and I have the Roadhouse burger. If we happen to try another place and get better food I’ll amend this post.
Several issues when I have eaten from here. Let's start with the dry Mac n cheese. I've seen the photos from here and that was not what I got. We got what looked like last night's food reheated up. Dry...had a brownish color to the cheese and the noodles were mushy from being over cooked. The chicken has been dry several times. Went late once thought it's not the freshest as it's end of the day. So went at different times and yes. Dry dry dry. I finally had some juicy chicken at 1130am...only to find the taste of it to be a little rubbery and slightly pink.Wife found several long black hairs in her sandwich. As she has red hair and food was to go...can't say they fell off her head and landed under the bun and 1st layer of chicken.Tri tip and beer are the 2 stars. (Never had the brisket as it was sold out most Sat I've gone...maybe it's a saving grace.)Garlic bread is hit or miss. Could be great could be used as a hockey puck. The ribs I had were again dry and some had meat some did not.The sides for sandwiches are super small and not worth the price.Unfortunately this will be the last time we come here. I've had BBQ from all over and I wanted this to be better than what it has been.Maybe it's better at the street fair or event as good as made to order and not served from the previous night.
It can be real hit or miss here unfortunately. I love that they're local. My company orders food here at least once a month, but I don't know for how much longer with the inconsistencies... The first time we ordered their wings they were juicy and delicious! The 2nd time they were burnt and dry. For the price I don't want to risk a repeat of the 2nd time. I often order the smoked chicken. Sometimes it's a breast, sometimes it's sliced, sometimes it's chunks, sometimes it's on a bone. Again, inconsistency. I ordered a chicken sammich recently and the chicken was shredded, just yesterday it was sliced. Not a big big deal, but different. The first time I asked for lettuce and tomato and they topped it with mixed greens and cherry tomato. It was delicious. This last time I was told they don't have tomato so they didn't put any on there. Okie. My biggest "rant" is the serving size changes. A few weeks ago my boss picked up a few orders and when we all sat down to eat everyone remarked at how little potato salad they received. They have REALLY good potato salad, so that was disappointing. So when I go in yesterday and receive a tiny plastic cup with half the usual amount yet still the same price, I was disappointed to say the least. My onion rings are always burnt as well. :( We're planning our annual Summer Party and had Corbin's at the top of our list. I don't know if that's still a possibility. I do want to stress though that they have wonderful employees that are always kind.
Not terrible not great. Got the sampler and sides. Meat was decent and the saving grace of the meal but by no means a home run. Everything else was fairly underwhelming. Mac tasted like straight salt, beans were watery and were more akin to chili beans, and the 2 "slices" of garlic bread were literally 2 soggy tiny slivers.
