Butters is so good. Perfect pre-Slim's joint to sauce up before you slide in (so to speak). But it must be referred to as Butters -- the S is mandatory.

Just went here for the first time last night for NYE. The venue for new years was different from their normal location at the DNA Lounge. It was instead held at the Mezzaine. The mashups were indeed very well done and kept people dancing throughout the night. Although I would have preferred less pop-ish music, the night was awesome regardless. We came for the small live music venue. The band (The Smash-Up Derby) was amazing, mashing old skool hits such as Journey and David Bowie with Smashing Pumpkins and Papa Roach. The various crazy costumes were freaky, fun, colorful,and weird. I mean all of this in a positive light. Of course, its started getting jam-packed after midnight due to the reduced $20 cover. My only grip was the $9 24oz. Pabst Blue Ribbon, but hey, its New Years. If your in for a down and dirty night of dancing along with a very different crowd, Bootie is the place for you. Dont come here with your glittered Miami/Orange County attitude and expect to be treated like a princess.
Easy access, jovial employees and a terrific DJ. Victoria out-did herself this last Saturday with the variety of music she played, it was highly entertaining !!!!

Definitely has a nice update to the interior and the bar tenders/staff are great. The amount of space and seating is probably the best out of all the Hillcrest bars.The drinks however are much pricier and weaker than the days of The Brass Rail. The inflation doesn't quite match its competition. It is pretty to look at though. Overall, not bad but also not the place to start a night.
Club train is the best way to go when it comes to getting into the best clubs in SD for one price! I had a blast and will definitely be recommending to friends in the future!
My friends and I were visiting San Diego to celebrate a bachelorette party and I'm so glad we stumbled upon Club Train! It was perfect for us since we had no idea which club to go to. They took us to 4 clubs in one night and the best part was we never had to wait in line. They even gave us a glass of champagne at the first stop. It was the perfect send-off for our bride-to-be. Next time we're in San Diego, we will definitely back!
