Japanese Sushi Bar Ramen

I've been coming here for more than 20 years. I have gotten the udon noodles as well as the ramen noodles and their food is very consistent. This trip I got the chasu wonton ramen and it did not disappoint. This is one of my go-to places every time I come back to visit San Diego.

If you plan on eating here, I would suggest avoiding peak hours of lunch and dinner. Convoy is a very busy place and parking can be difficult.I am rather picky when it comes to chicken katsu as I compare it to what I had when I lived in Okinawa. I was expecting to get the typical maki rolls that other places would give in a bento box, along with just 2 or 4 rolls. I was blown away by the amount of rolls you get. Their chicken katsu totally blew me away. This is authentic. This is exactly how katsu should taste like: juicy and a nice crisp. Was honestly perfect and it reminded me of eating at the old school Popeyes off of Kadena Gate 2. From the bento box to the taste. Super delicious food and service was kind and friendly. Loved hearing Japanese being spoken while there.

I will say that food is very good and great menu. They need to work with cleanness and to be more courteous. Nice location.

Great price for very authentic Japanese comfort food!!! Will come back 100%

This place serves authentic Japanese food just like being in Japan at a small restaurant on the corner of a street. Definitely my favorite Japanese every day type food restaurant. I haven't tried any sushi here but that isn't why I come here. Very reasonable prices and good fast service.

Thank god this place is open during the day after the lunch time!! I usually dislike going around convoy area with crowds and traffic, but we found this place to eat at 2pm! Very affordable price and good sushi! Love the salmon rolls. Quiet peaceful inside restaurant I felt so relax. Nice staffs and fast service.

Good price for everything but the ramen is not up to par. The shoyu is just beef broth from concentrate and the eggs aren’t soaked. Just normal hard boiled.

Honestly way better than I expected. I drive by it all the time but decided to stop by one day. It was pretty busy but food was out pretty quick considering there was only 3 servers for a full restaurant.

Me and my family love this place and have been coming here for years! Not over the top like a lot of the new hipster Ramen places that have opened lately.Plus, my mom's Japanese and approves!

I had the soba noodle with seafood and wazu broth and it was delicious. My boyfriend had the chicken yakisoba noodles that were also very tasty. Friendly and attentive service. We will be back.
