An acquaintance who works here suggested we stop by for a meal and we are so glad we did! I was torn between a burger or a gyro so asked which I should try. I was told if it was my first time I should have a burger. I ordered the American breakfast burger with truffle fries and my friend got the regular burger. The special included a burger, regular fries, and a drink for just $10, a steal for a meal in La Jolla. I'm not a beer drinker but I was told they also had hard kombucha on tap, so chose that instead. Both meals came out as ordered, the burgers were big and perfectly medium-rare and delicious. The truffle fries were incredible. The kombucha was pretty good, too. The service was helpful and friendly. It wasn't too busy while we were here and our food was brought to our table. So you get this great burger meal with great service for only $10... we'll definitely be back!
This was my family’s first time and we were more than satisfied. This is place is not a regular burger / hot dog joint. Don’t compare to a McDonald’s or hot dog on a stick ?, it would be insulting to Chicago Fire Grill. From the gentleman taking our order, who I think was the owner and was the nicest and welcoming. My salad was amazing. Not an ordinary salad, I swear I think my salad had 1lb of chicken in it. The burgers were? will definitely go back? worth the price???
05/30/2022This place was open per their FB page for Memorial Day. Yesterday, I had seen the sandwich boards advertising a burger, fries and a craft beef for $10. The Google maps reviews of locals were complimentary of the food and of the on site owner. I ordered "The Big Shoulder", a half pound cheeseburger for $8 and added a can of Pepsi for $2. The owner was personable and served me himself. He also brought out an ice cold bottle of water on the house. The burger was hand formed, cooked to my request of medium rare and the fries hand cut and fresh made. When ordering at counter ask if you want some mayo or another condiment added to your burger. There is indoors seating with tables and chairs, plus outdoors seating with community picnic tables and umbrellas. I will be back if I'm still in the area to try the Chicago dog. This place is one of the best escapes for a good burger and a beer. Of course all the hot dog options are good, but I've always been impressed with the burgers. Great specials, dog friendly, good vibe, and the owner is super down to earth. One of my regular local spots!
By far the best-kept secret. I'd like to say, "Chicago Fire Grill," never heard of the joint, and keep the crowds away. But King George would not care either way. He loves real people, lively conversation, and people enjoying "his place." And if he runs out of food, he'll simply say, you should come here earlier. Hands-down, the best quality food, excellent preparation, and uncommon prices. King George is an old-school dude and can rib ya good if you want spicy conversation. He's part dad, best friend, drill- Sargent, and grill master. What else do you want for a buck?

Today March 5, 222 we had some burgers and one of the best ever Hot Dogs combo, the fries was super crispy and well seasoned, the food was excellent! This is the best gyro I've ever eaten in my entire life. We grabbed lunch takeout today - we recently moved to San Diego from Chicago and I was missing a hot dog pretty badly. I'm a huge fan now - everything tastes immaculate. I got a got dog to eat later, but couldn't help myself and took a bite now. Run, don't walk to this place!
Best hot dog I’ve ever eaten in my life. Had a nice tray with fries when I was in San Diego for a weekend. Fries was super crispy and well-seasoned. Owner was a great guy, let me get a water on the house. Great environment for a late night snack. Definitely will be back next time I’m in Cali.
