Hands down the only place I ever go to for South Indian breakfast. They’ve never disappointed me. I love it. They also have an all you can eat buffet on the weekends ?
We hired them to cater at our wedding, which was a big mistake. The food tasted good, like it generally does at the restaurant. However the service right from the start, including at the wedding was terrible.The owner Ranji (an impossible lady to work with) has extremely poor communication and management skills, does not understand anything about quality service, and pays zero attention to providing a good experience.After somehow getting through the evening of our wedding like she was doing everyone a favor, she decided to pack up the food area early without informing anybody, and proceeded to trash all the leftovers- perfectly good food that we had paid for!I would absolutely not recommend them for any event. They prepare good South Indian food, but know nothing about catering or providing a service.
Food quality is absolutely gone down... Unhygienic place employees/ customers keep going to rest room where there is no water to wash hand..Poor customer service.. they switched off the a/c if only few customers at the restaurant.. still there were 3families.. they will come to your table while your having meal and force to pay at the table. They can't even wait till customer finish their meal and then pay.If you can't wait take money before hand why you want to go and disturb them when they are dining.0*stars ...there r other restaurants nearby who has farmore good customer service , quality food and manners..
Service of the lady taking order is super poor ,rude and arrogant..as if she is obliging us by taking order....all was the body language... sorry miss but this is a hospitality service and u need to improve or else all are going to San Idli coffee.Food is great ie 80/100.Water; they have prefilled open glasses and serve them.Need more cleanliness.
Breakfast buffet is what we come to try here. Food is overall fine but customer service is disappointing which is why they get my lowest rating. The elderly gentleman who brings around refills to table always seems to have an attitude and doesn’t come everywhere. This time he sounded rudely and asked to “just wait”while he kept refilling other tables repeatedly without even asking. This is the “customer service” part where they need to improve. Please don’t send people to serve who doesn’t respect guests.
If you are ever in San Diego and craving for South Indian food and this is the place to be . I tried out their South Indian thali and was worth every penny . You get vada and plain dosa as starters and hot gulab jamun as the dessert . They offer unlimited tomato , coconut , peanut chutney and piping hot sambhar with whatever you order. Amazing quality of food. Highly recommended.
We had an amazing dinner here. We loved the unlimited quantity of sambhar and chutneys. All chutneys like peanut, cocunut were delicious. Their dosas were great. Their service was very fast. I would recommend anyone to eat south indian food here.
Ordered 2 takeouts so far being recently moved to Sandiego ghee roast was good. Yesterday ordered family thali meals, we expected our native Tamilnadu meals due to their name Chennai tiffins though it mentions karakuzhambu/morkuzhambu it was missing sambar rasam poriyal gravies were all in less quantities and tasted average. Sambar given is not thali sambar but tiffin sambar. Keerai parupu gobi gray and mushroom gravy was good. My husband likes Tamilnadu meals with good spread but what we got was Andhra meals with 2 gravy so we were disappointed, not sure if it was due to the night order but they could've told meals isnt available instead wasted 32$ ordering family south indian meals would go here for tiffin only.
Amazing Indian food!I tried Chole Bhature here, they were so mouth watering - exceeded expectations!Pizza Dosa was also good, should try once
True taste of Chennai! Food is lip smacking! The Pesarattu was delicious. The service was great too. We are visiting San Diego from Atlanta, if we return will definitely come back here!
