It's a great, nostalgic (old fashioned and imported candy), and delicious "Mom and Pop."
I've only had their sandwiches twice. Once a friend picked it up and the sandwich was delicious. Most recently I ordered a sandwich online and after waiting a while since they didn't have my meal in the pickup area, I got home and found that my turkey jack and avocado sandwich had no cheese! Pretty lame for a place called the cheese shop.
If you like a solid deli sandwich cheese shop is a great place to check out. They have a great selection of styles to choose from along with most any type of candy, or soda as well. I have been here many times and have always left satisfied. Just be careful about enjoying your sandwich on the beach, seagulls will dive bomb you for them.
This was a great spot for grabbing a sandwich to bring to the beach! It did take a bit longer than I expected to get my sandwich, but that is a testament to how freshly-made it was...just something to keep in-mind in terms of allocating time. They had us wait outside for sandwiches, which I really appreciated in-terms of safety and Covid protocols.
Cheese shop is the GOAT when it comes to fresh sandwiches and a wide assortment of rare candies and sodas. Been coming here since my grom days and it’s just as good as I remember. Got the Turkey Jack Avo Sando and was beyond pleased, refreshed, and satisfied. Cheese Shop is a true institution of LJ and I wish it many more decades of success!5 shakas?????
The quality doesn’t match the price in my opinion. The sandwiches and sides were mediocre at best, not worth the money at all. It wasn’t horrible, just pretty disappointing and lacking in flavor. I suggest visiting a nearby restaurant like Girard Gourmet for a tasty and satisfying sandwich with quality ingredients.
Always the same order, turkey cran on rosemary with 6 oatmeal cookies... never disappoints. Enjoy it on the cliffs.
I ordered their Evergreen sandwich after kayaking down the street, and oh man, it really hit the spot! A super cute location with sidewalk dining, they also have tasty homemade cookies and homestyle potato salad.
I had the italian sandwich and it was super flavorful! Our order was ready very quickly! I appreciate COVID precautions taken by staff as well. It was a great quick stop for a casual meal.
Just had one of the best Turkey, Avocado & Cheese sandwiches. Excellent, fast service. Freshly made to order. The quality of the produce is the best. Served with a juicy and savory pickle. Lots of selections to chose to from. You will not be disappointed.
